Winners:
Apple
Now that Apple has surpassed Microsoft in market value, where does it go next? How VGP-BPS22 about a sequel to the hottest-selling tablet ever, a version of the iPhone for Verizon Wireless, and a new app store made just for Macs? Apple shows VGP-BPS22A no signs of slowing down, and developers continue to pick iOS over other platforms when it comes to apps that make money. Meanwhile, Apple has become the number three PC maker in the U.S. (in terms of market share), and its Mac OS VGP-BPS9/S X Lion OS—due this summer—could vault it to an even higher position.

Google
With 300,000 Android phones activated daily, Google took the wireless world VGP-BPS13 by storm in 2010, with every carrier under the sun selling multiple Android devices. This OS is so popular that the Android Market reportedly just VGP-BPS13A/B blew past the 200,000 app mark. Now Android is making its way to tablets with a version of the software (called Honeycomb) that’s optimized for slates, and everyone from Acer and Motorola to Samsung and Lenovo will be using it to power their VGP-BPS9 devices. I’m not convinced Google’s Chrome OS for netbooks will survive, but the company deserves credit for promoting apps that can run in VGP-BPS9/B the browser.

Verizon Wireless
The carrier promised to launch the nation’s fastest VGP-BPS9A/B 4G network by the end of the year, and Verizon Wireless did just that, blanketing 38 markets and more than 60 commercial airports in lightning-fast LTE coverage. So far the network is so blazing-fast that it blows away not only the Sprint and T-Mobile VGP-BPS10 but my home and office Internet connections. Of course, Verizon Wireless is only getting started, and we expect to see a wave of 4G LTE phones, tablets, vgp-bps8 and other devices to hit the market soon. It just needs to work on adjusting pricing plans to account for the expected increase in data usage and find a vgp-bps13b/q way to make roaming between 3G and 4G seamless.

Adobe
I knew we had touched a nerve when our online editorial director’s column on Flash’s sluggish performance on mobile vgp-bps13a/q devices was retweeted more than 1,300 times. Unfortunately, the too-big-for-a-phone/too-small-for-a-tablet Dell Streak fell flat, and the underwhelming Aero Android disappeared from Android’s lineup without anyone noticing. T-Mobile won’t even sell Dell’s Windows Phone 7 device, the Venue Pro, which has VGP-BPS2B also suffered from shipment delays. On the notebook front, we loved the sound of the XPS 15, but were disappointed by the slow touch software PA3534U-1BRS on the Inspiron Duo netbook-tablet. The company’s new tagline for 2011 is “You Can Tell It’s Dell.” Let’s hope not.

Losers
Microsoft
The good news is that Windows Phone 7 is pa3535u-1brs launched, and I believe it has most of the ingredients Microsoft needs for it to be a success. The bad news is that it’s still missing a lot of features that any smart phone OS should have in 2010, including cut and paste and multitasking with third-party apps vgp-bps21a (software updates are coming). Microsoft’s biggest issue is tablets, a category Apple ran away with while the software giant was busy pushing out its tragically vgp-bps21/s misguided Kin phones. With new tablets on the way powered by iOS, Android, and webOS, Microsoft can’t afford to have another lost year.

RIM
The BlackBerry Torch was supposed to be the phone that would help RIM fend off the iPhone and the Android vgp-bps21 onslaught. And despite lukewarm reviews, it actually has sold quite well—thanks to a price drop from $199 to $99. Ultimately, though, RIM’s “fresh vgp-bps21a/b but familiar” approach resulted in the third best smart phone on AT&T’s network when it launched (behind the iPhone 4 and Samsung Captivate), Thinkpad T410 Battery and developers simply haven’t warmed to the BlackBerry platform as much as iOS and Android. Heat
After playing a Hulu clip at full screen for 15 Lenovo x300 battery minutes we measured temperatures on the N53JF’s touchpad (83 degrees), keyboard between the G&H keys (86 degrees), and the middle of the underside (88 degrees). Keyboard and Touchpad

Ports and Webcam

We noted no pixelation or artifacts when transferring from light to dark scenes, and we appreciated the wide viewing angles. Glossy screens mean reflections, though, and ours proved somewhat distracting when hp battery watching flicks.

The real star of the multimedia experience are the huge Bang & Olfson sony battery speakers. They’re backed by ASUS’ SonicMaster technology, which allows users to customize audio output both on the speakers and when listening via asus battery headphones. The result is rich audio with a wide range that’s well above the average notebook.

It was the year of the iPad and Antennagate, the year of Android’s continued rise and Palm’s getting fujitsu battery snatched up by HP, and the year 4G finally meant something. Samsung

Nvidia was busy in 2010 racking up a huge number of design wins for its Tegra 2 saus laptop battery chip, which will bring lots of multimedia oomph to a new generation of Android tablets. And don’t forget phones. LG looks to be the first of fujitsu laptop battery many partners to deliver a Tegra-powered Android handset with dual-core muscle. Display and Sound

However, the 3D comes with a higher-res Ultra BrightView Infinity display, which has 1920 x Sony VGP-BPS9A/B Battery 1080 full HD resolution, wide viewing angles, a 72-percent color gamut, and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The notebook also packs ATI’s Sony VGP-BPS9/B Battery Eyefinity multi-display technology, which lets users connect up to three external monitors, provided one is attached via mini DisplayPort.

When we watched Blu-rays on the Envy 17 3D, we were impressed by the level of detail. As promised, the display was bright, too, Sony VGP-BPS9 Battery and the colors were true. We were also able to watch movies comfortably from the sides and even with the lid pushed far forward, but that Sony VGP-BPS8A Battery required us to dim the lights; with the lights on, the display was too reflective to watch at wide angles. The Envy 17 3D’s speakers, which are tucked discreetly onto the front lip of the notebook, are powered by Beats audio technology. Keyboard and Touchpad
The Envy 17 3D has a chiclet-style keyboard and number pad that stretch across the 16-inch chassis. In addition to the keyboard’s backlighting, Sony VGP-BPS2C Battery we like that the keys have a soft finish and make little noise when you type. The Envy 17 3D has a large 4.2 x 2.5-inch touchpad which doubles as a clickable button. Although we’ve given HP’s touchpads Sony VGP-BPS13/B Battery much flack in the past for being either jumpy or having too much friction, the Envy 17 3D’s was easier to use. Occasionally, the cursor Sony VGP-BPS13B/B Battery jumped slightly–it’s worse for those who use two hands–but for the most part we had little problem moving the cursor to specific spots Sony VGP-BPS13B/Q Battery on the screen. The integrated touch buttons were always easy to press.

Heat
While the Envy 17 we reviewed in September stayed relatively cool, we noticed much warmer temperatures on the Envy 17 3D. After Sony VGP-BPS13/Q Battery playing a Hulu video at full screen for 15 minutes, the touchpad stayed a chilly 84 degrees Fahrenheit, but the space between the G and Sony VGP-BPS21A/B Battery H keys was a very warm 105 degrees, and the middle of the underside was 100 degrees.

The left side of the Envy 17 3D is the real trouble area. Sony VGP-BPS21/S Battery We can accept a fan that blows 120-degree air. But after we played Call of Duty for 10 minutes, the left Shift and Caps Lock keys were a blazing 125 degrees. That’s Sony VGP-BPS21 Battery disturbing.

Heat
The Samsung RF510 stayed pleasantly cool throughout our testing. Even after streaming video at full screen for 15 minutes, Sony VGP-BPS21A Battery the keyboard measured a temperate 92 degrees. Now that 15-inch notebooks are the new dell akkus family PCs, you’ll want a hub that can do it all: web surfing, word processing, streaming movies, photo and video editing, and, yes, even gaming. The Samsung RF510 ($729 on Amazon) answers the call for versatility by combining a Core i5 processor with discrete apple akkus Nvidia graphics, stylish looks, and a responsive keyboard. But is this 5.6-pound system really good enough to play demanding games or full HD acer akkus videos?

Design
At 14.9 x 10.1 X 1.5 inches and 5.6 pounds, the RF510 is too bulky to carry around all day ibm akku but light enough to move from the living room to the bedroom and then the kids’ room in a flash. It’s also noticeably lighter than the Dell XPS 15 sony akku (6.1 pounds, 15 x 10.4 x 1.5 inches).

Though sized like a family PC, the Samsung RF510 has a sleek, black aesthetic that looks equally at home in the living room toshiba akku and the conference room. The glossy black lid, which resists most fingerprints, is emblazoned with a chrome Samsung logo and accented by chrome hinges dell akku and chrome lines on the left and right sides. Though we like the ivory design and curved shape of the less expensive Samsung SF510, the RF510’s saus akku sleek aethetic looks more professional.

Once opened, the notebook looks even classier. A comfortable matte black palmrest sits below acer akku an island-style keyboard with tastefully rounded keys and a chrome-colored background. Above the keyboard is a chrome button area with hp akku volume controls, Wi-Fi on/off, and power buttons with sci-fi blue lighting behind them. The subtle speaker holes that run across the entire width of the upper deck add to the high-tech aesthetic. Even the screen bezel has a subtle dotted pattern that matches apple akku the speaker holes.

Keyboard and Touchpad
The RF510’s island-style keyboard sports a numeric keypad and offers solid tactile feedback fushitsu akku and a smooth key surface, though it lacks a backlight. We scored our typical rate of 80 words per minute on the Ten Thumbs Typing Test, with a dell battery modest 2 percent error rate.

The 3.5 x 2.3-inch touchpad has a pleasant matte surface that allowed us to navigate around the desktop toshiba battery with great accuracy and execute pinch-to-zoom gestures smoothly. The notebook’s discrete touchpad buttons offered just the right amount of feedback; saus battery that’s a welcome improvement over the SF510’s jerky clickpad.

Design
The Envy 17 3D shares the same minimalist-chic sony battery design as the smaller Envy 14, including a rock-solid taupe chassis made of aluminum and magnesium. Im Inneren arbeiten aber ULV-Prozessoren, die auch mit HD-Inhalten fertig werden sollen. Diese spricht einen TFT mit LED-Hintergrundbeleuchtung an. Der Acer CineCrystal-LCD kommt Dell vostro 1000 akku im breiten 16:9-Format und hat eine Auflösung von 1.366 x 768 Pixeln. Zur weiteren Ausstattung gehören Webcam, Dell vostro 1500 akku eingebautes Mikrofon sowie Stereolautsprecher für Dolby-optimierten Sourround Sound.

Schnelles WLAN und UMTS als Schnittstellenoption

Zum Standard der Geräteserie gehören digitaler und analoger Videoausgang per HDMI und VGA. Schon das Design der Geräte aus der Serie Acer Aspire Timeline 1810T ist für den mobilen Einsatz optimiert. Verarbeitungstechnisch sind keine Mängel aufgefallen und auch ein Knarren Akku HP 6830S beim Druck auf das Gehäuse gibt es nicht. Das Display lässt sich mit etwas Druck an den richtigen Stellen allerdings geringfügig verbiegen und auch eindrücken. Es ist nicht ganz so verwindungssteif wie man es von einigen anderen Modellen kennt. Zu Farbverfälschungen Akku Lenovo G550 auf dem Display kommt es jedoch nicht. Die Scharniere sind ausreichend hart eingestellt um das Display in Position zu halten, auch Lenovo Ideapad S12 Akku wenn man es auf den Knien abgelegt hat.

Die Innenseite ist im Gegensatz zum Displaydeckel dann aber doch wieder eher konservativ VGP-BPS21A gestaltet worden, der silberne Korpus macht in Verbindung mit dem schwarzen Displayrahmen aber eine gute Figur. Mit einer Größe von 26,8 x 18,0 x 2,8 – 3,2 Zentimetern (B x T x H) und einem Gewicht von 1,125 Kilogramm, ist das Netbook VGP-BPS8a leicht genug, um als ständiger Begleiter zu dienen. Das Netzteil dürfte mit seinen 150 Gramm in kaum einer Tasche großartig akku sony vgp-bps8 auffallen.

Eingabegeräte

Tastatur

Die Tastatur des Sony Vaio VPC-W21C7E/G VGP-BPS2 besteht aus einzelnen freistehenden Tasten (Chiclet), wie sie derzeit bei vielen Net- und Notebooks anzutreffen sind. Obwohl die Tasten metallisch wirken, sind sie trotzdem aus Kunststoff. Mit 12 x 13 Millimetern sind die einzelnen Tasten nicht besonders groß ausgefallen Sony VGP-BPS2C Akku und sorgen besonders am Anfang für einige Schreibfehler. Mit seinem Prozessortakt von 1,83 GHz ist er rein vom Takt einer der schnellsten Atom Prozessoren. Der Atom N470 Prozessor ist ein Single-Core Prozessor, der dank Hyper-Threading akku hp nc6120 aber über zwei Threads verfügt, die dem Betriebssystem als virtuelle Prozessoren angezeigt werden. So sollen parallele Aufgabe besser akku hp nc6400 abgearbeitet werden als mit nur einem Thread.

Bei der im Prozessor integrierten Grafikeinheit presario v6000 akku handelt es sich um die Intel GMA 3150 Grafik. Mit ihrem 200 MHz Kerntakt ist die Grafikeinheit schnell genug für die alltäglich anfallenden Office-Aufgaben oder das Surfen im Internet. Der Zuwachs bei den hp pavilion dv7 akku Benchmarks zwischen der Single-Core und Multi-Core Berechnung ist nicht wirklich groß. Dies liegt vor allem daran, dass der durch Hyper-Threading erzeugte zweite Thread kein wirklicher Prozessor ist und von daher nur eine geringe Leistungssteigerung akku hp compaq 6720s ermöglicht.

Die Benchmark-Ergebnisse des Grafikbenchmarks 3D Mark zeigen noch einmal sehr hp compaq 6735s akku deutlich, dass sich das Sony Vaio VPC-W21C7E/G Netbook nicht zum Spielen neuerer Spiele eignet. Spiele Fazit

Bei Spielen muss man deutliche Einschnitte hinnehmen, sofern sie überhaupt auf der Netbook Hardware laufen. Schon an der akku hp pb992a Hardware-Konfiguration lässt sich erkennen, dass kaum ein aktuelles Spiel flüssig laufen wird. Weder die Intel GMA 3150 die Intel Atom Prozessoren akku hp 550 sind für ihre Leistungsfähigkeit in Spielen bekannt. Videowiedergabe

Lediglich ein USB-2.0-Anschluss wurde entfernt und damit der Schnittstellenumfang geschrumpft. Durch diese Akku Lenovo G550 Reduktion finden sich an der linken Geräteseite nur noch der Stromanschluss für das mitgelieferte Netzteil, eine RJ-45-Netzwerkbuchse, der Luftauslass und die Audioports (Kopfhörerausgang, Lenovo Ideapad S12 Akku Mikrofoneingang).

Gegenüber finden sich zwei Dell Vostro 1320 Akku USB-2.0-Schnittstellen und ein VGA-Ausgang, über den sich ein Monitor oder Beamer für Präsentationen betreiben lässt. Zusätzlich bietet die rechte Seite einen Hardwareschalter um die Mobiltechnologien ein- beziehungsweise auszuschalten. Dieser Schiebemechanismus ist ersetzt Akku Thinkpad X61S durch Fn-Funktionen heute nur noch selten zu finden. Die Antennen-Schnittstelle für ein DVB-T-Modul ist verschlossen, da das Einsteigermodell VGP-BPS21A nicht über das passende Mini-PCI-Express-Modul verfügt. An der Vorderseite findet sich ein 6-in-1-Kartenleser, der sich durch eine VGP-BPS13A/S umfangreiche Formatunterstützung von der breiten Maße abheben kann. Gegenüber beschlagnahmt der 8-Zellen-Akku die gesamte Rückseite des Convertibles und lässt keinen Platz für weitere VGP-BPS13A/B Schnittstellen.

Die Verteilung der Ports ist Lenovo gut gelungen, aber dies liegt vor allem am geringen Schnittstellenumfang. Warum bei diesem VGP-BPS8a Gerät auf die dritte USB-Schnittstelle verzichtet wird, ist nicht klar. Positiv zu bewerten ist der Multiformat-Kartenleser und der Hardwareschalter für die hp compaq nx6125 akku integrierten Mobiltechnologien.

Kommunikation

Neben dem heute bereits oft anzutreffenden akku hp 6510b Gigabit-Ethernet-Controller (Broadcom NetLink 57780) bietet das Testgerät schnelles WLAN nach 802.11n von Broadcom (BCM4313) und etwas älteren Bluetooth 2.0-Standard. Das Repertoire an optionalem Zubehör ist im Vergleich umso größer. Neben diversen Taschen Vostro 1310 Akku und Hüllen (11,90 – 48,79 Euro) bietet Lenovo ein einfaches Headset (19,04 Euro), einen kleinen 4-Zellen-Akku (82,11 Euro), der akku P726C komplett im Gehäuse integriert ist und nicht hervor steht, optische USB-Kabelmäuse (Farbvarianten: Schwarz, Weiß – 15,47 Euro) und ein externen USB-DVD-Brenner (SlimLine) in Schwarz oder Weiß (77,35 Euro). Die Preise sind angemessen, wobei ein Preisvergleich mit akku KD476 ähnlichen Produkten sinnvoll ist.

Garantie

Innerhalb der gesetzlichen Gewährleistung (24 Monate) gewährt Lenovo eine Garantie von 1 akku XPS m1330 Jahr. Diese Garantie lässt sich nach Wunsch im Internet auf 24 oder 36 Monate erweitern, wobei die Preise bei 30,94 – 67,83 Euro Dell xps m1730 akku beziehungsweise 83,30 – 136,85 Euro liegen. Insgesamt sind die Garantieverlängerungen für dieses Gerät erschwinglich und eine Überlegung wert.

Display

Der kapazitive Touchscreen (Typ: AUO23D2) bietet eine hochglänzende Oberfläche, wodurch der subjektive Farbeindruck etwas Dell latitude d610 akku aufgebessert wird. Die Bildschirmhelligkeit aber nicht außergewöhnlichenliegt mit einem Maximalwert von 228 cd/m² im guten Bereich für ein „Netvertible“. Der Dell vostro 1000 akku Durchschnitt der Helligkeitswerte ist akzeptabel. Die Kombination aus Glare-Type-Oberfläche und durchschnittlichen Werten im Dell vostro 1500 akku Mittelfeld sind nicht die besten Voraussetzungen für einen reibungslosen Außengebrauch.

Die weiteren Bildschirmwerte sind ebenfalls Dell inspiron 1720 akku durchschnittlich. Die Ausleuchtung ist mit 85 Prozent gleichmäßig und eine Schwankung kann man mit freiem Auge nicht feststellen. Der mäßige Kontrast von 158:1, bedingt durch einen hohen Schwarzwert von 1,35 cd/m², entspricht dem Standard in dieser Akku Inspiron 1721 Geräteklasse

Unter direkter Licht- oder Sonneneinstrahlung im Außengebrauch kann man das Panel ohne akku dell inspiron 1520 Probleme als Spiegel nutzen und das Arbeiten ist nur stark eingeschränkt möglich. Im Schatten oder Innenräumen ist das Arbeiten mit Dell inspiron 1525 akku einigen Abstrichen aufgrund Spiegelungen durchaus möglich.

Betrachtet man unser Referenzbild von verschiedenen Seiten und Winkeln, fällt schnell auf, dass eine ausreichende horizontale Stabilität Dell latitude e4300 akku gewährleistet ist. Die Farben bleiben stabil und der Inhalt bleibt bis zirka 160 Grad gut erkennbar. Die Blickwinkelstabilität Dell studio 1535 akku im vertikalen Bereich ist hingegen nicht berauschend. Die Farben verblassen rasch und der Inhalt invertiert, wodurch man den Eindruck eines Negativs akku e6500 erhält.

Emissionen

Geräuschemissionen

Ein Netbook beziehungsweise Convertible sollte möglichst kühl und leise arbeiten. Im Idealbetrieb bleibt der integrierte Lüfter inaktiv und Dell inspiron 6400 akku die Geräuschkulisse bleibt konstant. Unter Last arbeitet das IdeaPad S10-3t ebenfalls Dell inspiron e1505 akku sehr ruhig und bleibt mit konstant 33.1 dB(A) im grünen Bereich. Abschließend betrachtet ein sehr laufruhiges Kühlsystem mit gutem Lüfter und Kühlkörper.

Im Normalbetrieb bleibt der Lüfter im Inneren des Convertibles inaktiv und die Temperaturen sind im Bereich des Prozessors leicht erhöht. Bei akku gd761 einer Raumtemperatur von 21,1 Grad Celsius konnten wir maximal 35,7 Grad Celsius an der Unterseite messen. Eine Erwärmung an der akku m1210 Ober- sowie Unterseite ist nur minimal spürbar und es besteht kein Anlass für Kritik.

Unter Last wird die Kühlung hochgefahren und die von uns good akkus gemessenen Werte sinken. Mit einem Maximalwert von 32,5 Grad Celsius an der Unterseite bleibt das S10-3t auch hier unauffällig und alle Werte liegen im grünen Bereich. Die Handballenauflage bleibt kühl und die Ergonomie wird nicht dell akku beeinträchtigt.

Lautsprecher

Das IdeaPad bietet zwei Stereo-Lautsprecher, die sich im Bildschirmrahmen unter dem hp akkus Display befinden. Laut Lenovo sind diese Lautsprecher optimiert um eine bessere Klangqualität zu bieten. Nach diversen Liedern und Videos fällt das sony akku Fazit klar aus: die hohen Töne werden gut wiedergegeben und die maximale Lautstärke ist mehr als ausreichend. Die tiefen Töne und Bässe sind aber nicht existent.

Für die externe Audiowiedergabe wird eine 3,5-Millimeter-Klinke geboten, die auch Kopfhörer mit Dolby-Zertifizierung unterstützt. good akku Das Klangbild ist ausgewogen und ein Rauschen oder Knacken konnten wir nicht beobachten. Einen HDMI-Ausgang für den Anschluss an einen apple akku modernen Fernseher oder AV-Receiver bietet das Gerät nicht.

Tastatur

Die Tasten bieten uns einen leicht undeutlichen Druckpunkt und einen zu kleinen Akku Thinkpad X61S Tastenhub an. Das Tastenfeld federt mittig und über dem optischen Laufwerk. Zusammen entsteht ein geringfügig schwammiges Tippgefühl, Dell Vostro 1320 Akku an das sich der Schreiber aber gewöhnen kann.

Der große Ziffernblock im Standard-Layout erleichtert die Eingabe von Zahlen. Beschwerlicher ist hingegen die Bedienung der winzigen Lenovo Ideapad S12 Akku Richtungstasten, welche unter der Shift-Taste eingequetscht sind. Es hätte einen kleinen Zwischenraum geben können, doch dieser akku Dell N950C wird vom Dollar- bzw. Euro-Symbol besetzt. Die winzigen Pfeiltasten schmälern den ansonsten guten Eindruck des übersichtlichen Vostro 1310 Akku Tastaturlayouts.

Touchpad

Der Mausersatz ist ein Synaptics Multitouch Pad (V7.2). Seine Oberfläche hat dieselbe, leicht stumpfe Oberfläche wie die Handauflage. Das Pad Dell P726C akku bedient sich zügig und ist ausreichend groß. Die Tasten klicken vergleichsweise laut und hell, verlangen aber einen zu hohen Druck. Das akku KD476 macht die Bedienung etwas mühsamer als nötig.

Das Pad hat horizontale und vertikale akku XPS m1330 Scrollbars, auch wenn nur die vertikale eingezeichnet wurde. Durch die Gesten-Erkennung sind die Bildlaufbereiche aber nicht mehr zwingend notwendig, weshalb die horizontale Scrollbar im Auslieferungszustand inaktiv ist. Im Stresstest für die Intel HD und den Pentium P6000 liegt der Maximalwert bei nur 34.1 dB(A). Wir hatten den Eindruck, dass sich der Lüfter bei konstanter Last etwas Dell xps m1210 beruhigt und deshalb leiser rotiert, als bei einem einzelnen CPU-Benchmark.

Von den Werten her macht die Lüfter-Steuerung einen guten Eindruck. Das plötzliche Aufdrehen dell akkus für wenige Sekunden, des ansonsten inaktiven Lüfters, missfällt uns aber. Temperatur

Die Temperaturen bleiben gering, ganz gleich ob im Leerlauf oder unter Belastung. Während Textverarbeitung und Web-Surfen liegt die durchschnittliche sony akkus Temperatur der Unterseite bei unter 30 Grad. Die Handauflage bleibt dabei mit höchstens 29 Grad im angenehmen Bereich. Auch bei Belastungen für die CPU gilt: Keine nennenswerten Erwärmungen. Maximal erfassen wir auf den Tasten 35 Grad Celsius. Lautsprecher

Die Stereo-Lautsprecher befinden sich über der Tastatur unter einer Leiste aus kleinen Löchern. Akkulaufzeit

Mit knapp drei Stunden im WLAN-Test (160 Minuten, 2:40 Stunden) kann das Travelmate 5740Z ganz passabel punkten. Der 48 Wh Akku ist relativ PA3534U-1BRS schwach (4.400 mAh). Auf einen Meister im Energiesparen weist das aber noch nicht hin. Selbst ein Core i5 hp elitebook 2530p akku Notebook wie das Toshiba Satellite Pro S500-115 liegt bei 9.5 Watt (IGP Grafik Intel HD). Die maximale Energieaufnahme, ermittelt VGP-BPS21/S begleitend zum Stresstest mit Prime95 und Furmark, liegt bei 44 Watt. Das schmale 65 Watt Netzteil (237 Gramm) ist dafür mehr als ausreichend dimensioniert.

Stromsparer sollten die relativ hohe Energieaufnahme im StandBy beachten. Im Modus „Energie akku Sparen“ benötigt das 5740Z immer noch 0.9 Watt.

Gehäuse

Die Edge-ThinkPads überraschen mit einem neuen, frischen, jedoch nach wie vor VGP-BPS13A/S schlichten Design. Sanfte Rundungen haben das kantige Design der klassischen ThinkPads abgelöst. Und es gibt neben dem typischen schwarz VGP-BPS13/Q zwei neue Farben für den Display-Deckel: Anthrazit und Rot. Einzig markant ist das ThinkPad-Logo auf der Gehäuseoberseite und auf der Baseunit. Pfiffig ist der rot leuchtende I-Punkt des Schriftzuges, welcher den Betriebszustand des Notebooks anzeigt. Auf weitere typische akku sony VGP-BPS9 Betriebsanzeigen, wie z. B. für Festplattenaktivität oder WLAN-Status, verzichtet Lenovo. Das ist nicht zu unterschätzen, denn auch beim Tippen mindert Sony VGP-BPS2C Akku dies erheblich den Schreibkomfort (mehr dazu im Abschnitt „Eingabegeräte“). Die Abkehr vom ursprünglichen VGP-BPS2 ThinkPad-Design bedeutet auch die Abkehr vom „Clamshell“-Design des Displays. Und so schließt der Deckel nicht mehr so passgenau, zumal eine richtige Display-Verriegelung fehlt. Auch hier reiht sich das TP Edge in die Kette Sony VGP-BPS2B Akku der vielen Standard-Gehäuse ein.

Apropos Verriegelung: die Scharniere müssen nicht nur das Display geschlossen halten, akku sony vgp-bps8 sondern auch für guten Halt bei geöffnetem Bildschirm sorgen. Auch das gelingt dem Edge nicht so gut wie bei den höherwertigen VGP-BPS8a T-Modellen. Eingabegeräte

Tastatur

Hohe Erwartungen stellen wir an die Tastatur, denn wer „ThinkPad“ im Namen trägt, weckt entsprechende Erwartungen an den Tippkomfort. Das PA3534U-1BRS im Edge verbaute Keyboard gibt sich nun im Chicklet-Look und fügt sich ins minimalistische Design nahtlos ein. Die VGP-BPS21A Tasten haben einen geringen Hub und einen sanften, aber dennoch deutlichen Druckpunkt. Das Tastenmaterial ist angenehm hochwertig und VGP-BPS21/S schafft es sogar, einen Hauch Noblesse zu versprühen. Erfreulich groß sind die Enter-, Backspace- und Shift-Tasten. Zu klein sind hingegen die Cursortasten geraten. Besonders ungünstig sind die „Bild“-Tasten angebracht: sie befinden sich rechts und links neben dem Vostro 1310 Akku Up-Cursor. Die Tasten sind zwar vertieft angebracht, aber da die Cursortasten nur etwa die Hälfte der Größe der normalen Tasten besitzen, akku KD476 trifft man gerne die falsche.

Dennoch, wie im Abschnitt „Gehäuse“ bereits akku XPS m1330 angesprochen, hat die Tastatur einen großen Makel: im Bereich um die Backspace-, Enter- und Cursor-Tasten ist sie sehr instabil. Dieser Bereich gibt beim Tippen stark nach und die Tasten verkannten sich hin und wieder kurz. Der Hub- und Druckpunkt dieser Tasten vermatscht somit akku m1530 komplett und hinterlässt ein beinahe ekeliges Tippgefühl.

Die Hauptfunktionen der F-Tasten wurden auf die Zweitbelegung per „FN“-Taste verbannt. Auch unter Last sind die Emissionswerte gut: mit 36,4 dB(A) im Stresstest bleibt der Lüfter zwar deutlich hörbar, aber noch im akkus gut erträglichen Rahmen. Ähnlich laut wird das DVD-Laufwerk. Bei einer Video-DVD beruhigt sich das Laufwerk aber bald wieder, sodass es dell akkus nicht weiter stört.

Temperatur

Weniger gut sind die Werte bei der Temperatur. Im VGP-BPS21A/BRuhebetrieb werden schon fast 40° C auf der Unterseite erreicht. Die Temperatur steigt dann dort unter Last auf nahezu 50° C – das ist schon gefährlich heiß. Die Oberseite bleibt in beiden Szenarien zwar kühler, aber alles andere als kalt. Das ist wohl der Preis für ein leises Notebook: für akku sony VGP-BPS21 eine kühleres Gerät müsste der Lüfter wesentlich mehr und häufiger drehen. Obligatorisch bei jedem Notebook sind Lautsprecher, je nach Einsatzzweck mehr oder hp elitebook 2530p akku weniger aufwendig realisiert. Last Spring, ASUS wowed us with its G73Jh gaming notebook, VGP-BPS9/B and now the company is back with a refreshed version that pairs the same great design with a faster processor, a more powerful Nvidia GTX 460 graphics chip, VGP-BPS9 and a USB 3.0 port for good measure. But are the improved specs enough to give this system a leg up on the competition?

Design
The G73JW-A1 is identical to the G73Jh-A2. At 8.8 pounds and 16.6 x 12.8 x 2.3 inches, the ASUS G73JW-A1 VGP-BPS9/S would never be mistaken for an ultraportable, but compared to some other systems we’ve tested–such as the 10.6-pound, 18-inch Toshiba Qosmio X505–it seems rather svelte. Carrying it and its 2-pound power brick around in an oversize messenger-style bag was no problem even when we had to stand for a long time VGP-BPS9A/B on the bus.

Modeled after the F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter, the G73JW-A1 lacks the bling Vostro 1510 Battery of colorful notebooks like the Alienware M17x, but its sleek, angular design and gunmetal gray exterior make it one of the most attractive Inspiron 1545 battery systems we’ve seen. The dual exhausts on the back combine with the subtle silver ASUS logo and Republic of Gaming emblem to make this product look more like one of the planes you’d fly in a game than the notebook you’d be gaming on. Open up the lid, and the subtle theme continues inside. Only a few small buttons sit on top of the simple black keyboard and the gray touchpad simply blends into the deck. No colorful status lights or bright Latitude E6400 Battery red buttons here.

What really makes the G73JW-A1 stand out is the rubberized material used on both VGP-BPS13B/Q the lid and deck. More notebooks should use this type of material, because it’s incredibly comfortable to touch, resists finger prints, stays cool, and provides a significant feeling of durability and quality.

Keyboard and Touchpad
Unfortunately, the G73JW-A1’s backlit VGP-BPS13/B keyboard is a huge disappointment, with tiny stiff keys that are difficult for both typists and gamers alike. On the ten thumbs typing test, we got one of our worst scores ever–69 words per minute and a 3-percent error rate as opposed to our average rate of 80 wpm VGP-BPS13 and 1-percent. And that was the third time we tried; on the first two attempts we made so many errors that we just had to restart.

One reason the keyboard is so difficult to touch type on is that the hard keys give really VGP-BPS13A/B weak tactile feedback and require really hard and deliberate strokes. Another issue is that their flat, square shape lacks the kind of curves that make it easy to feel your way around the rows, and the narrow space between them seems smaller than other devices.

Why ASUS decided to not use all available space Dell GD761 Battery for the keyboard remains a mystery. The chassis is 16-inches wide, but has 1.5 inches of empty plastic on either side of the keyboard. Meanwhile, The arrow keys and numeric keypad–both essential for game play–are actually smaller than the rest of the keys, making it difficult to use them as controls. To make matters worse, the sharp incline and deep palm rest (more wasted space) can make it hard to keep your hands from PA3534U-1BRS slipping backward as you type.

Size-wise, the 4.4 x 2.2-inch touchpad has everything going for it: Vostro 1710 Battery a large smooth, but not too smooth surface, multitouch gesture support, and two discrete buttons that offer just the right amount of tactile feedback. However, on the first review unit we received, the cursor would get stuck and then jump unexpectedly Vostro 1720 Battery around the screen; we didn’t experience this problem on a second review unit. Considering battery that many gamers use mice, the lack of a touchpad on/off button is a glaring omission.

Heat
For a notebook with a Core i7 CPU and power good battery Nvidia graphics card under the hood, the G73JW-A1 stays extremely cool. After streaming a video at full screen for 15 minutes, we measured the keyboard at a cool 87 degrees, the bottom at a temperate 90 degrees, and the touchpad at a chilly 78 degrees. Unlike other gaming battery notebooks that have hot palm rests and decks, we didn’t notice a single hot spot on the G73JW-A1 even when we were gaming and that’s battery quite an impressive feat. We consider temperatures below 95 degrees comfortable and below 90 degrees to be basically imperceptible.

This keyboard lets you type much faster than you can with touch-typing VGP-BPS13 while protecting your tablet, but is it worth $99?

Design
From the outside, the KeyFolio looks like an elegant iPad case–which in fact, it is. It’s made sony VGP-BPS9 battery of black faux leather with white stitching. Flip over the cover, and you reveal its second function as a wireless keyboard.

Performance
Pairing the KeyFolio with the iPad was easy. A message will appear on the screen asking you to type in a code on the keyboard to complete the pairing.

The keyboard on the KeyFolio is about the same size as one you’d find on a netbook. However, it’s not nearly as good as, say, the Vostro 1710 Battery Toshiba Mini NB305. The rubber membrane was soft to the touch, and in general, we found the keys responsive. In fact, they Vostro 1720 Battery were a bit too responsive; we found that we would often accidentally type the same letter twice in a row until we figured out just how much pressure to apply.

We found the KeyFolio, like early netbook toshiba PA3534U-1BRS Battery keyboards, to be slightly irregular. For example, in order to make room for arrow keys, there’s no right Shift key. Verdict
The idea that you can take just a tablet good battery with you on business trips is an intoxicating one, as it would free up weight battery and room in your carry-on. The $99 Kensington KeyFolio makes this dream a reality. However, the keyboard’s misplaced keys (and missing right Shift key), the inability to use it securely in one’s lap, and oversensitivity are real turn-offs. The KeyFolio is certainly better than nothing, but you may want to wait until something better comes battery along.

Samsung’s latest 15-inch notebook performs well and plays games VGP-BPS9/B smoothly, but its faux wood design isn’t for everyone.

Since it entered the U.S. VGP-BPS9A/B notebook market, Samsung has established a reputation for pairing powerful components with head-turning designs. The Samsung RR540 continues that trend, though not necessarily in the best way possible. This 15-inch laptop ($999 as configured) has the power to best even more VGP-BPS9 expensive machines in its weight class and offers smooth Blu-ray playback. However, while the faux-wood pattern on the lid and deck VGP-BPS9/S will certainly get stares, you’ll either love it or hate it.

Design
At 5.5 pounds and 14.9 x 10.1 x 1.4 inches, the R540 is relatively light Dell Vostro 1510 Battery for a notebook with this size display. The notebook has a smooth, brown plastic lid with a wood grain pattern, making it look like a Formica countertop. Not only does this surface pick up fingerprints, it has a somewhat cheap feel.

On the inside, Samsung’s attempts Dell Inspiron 1545 battery to mimic wooden surfaces are more successful. The palm rest and chassis, still made of brown plastic, at least have etched grains instead of painted-on ones, along with a more subtle matte finish. The touch buttons, too, have this faux-wood look, although the touchpad itself is smooth, with a pattern of brown dots.

We give Samsung props for trying something different, but we much prefer the look and feel of the ASUS’s U33Jc. That 13-inch notebook Dell Latitude E6400 Battery uses real bamboo, and it’s much more elegant.

Keyboard and Touchpad
The R540 has terraced keys that are positioned close together, as opposed to a chiclet-style VGP-BPS13/B layout. Even with amply sized keys, the keyboard deck can still accommodate a full number pad. Particularly since Samsung didn’t skimp on the Enter and right Shift keys, we were able to type quickly (for us, at least) at a rate of 93 words per minute. As we typed, though, we felt some flex beneath our fingers; this keyboard VGP-BPS13 panel isn’t the sturdiest on the block

The touchpad isn’t large, at 2.8 x 1.6 inches, but it felt smooth and offered next to no resistance. The twin touch buttons, likewise, VGP-BPS13B/Q are easy to press, although they’re on the noisy side and we found ourselves wishing they were a bit taller so they could better VGP-BPS13A/B accommodate the pad of our finger.

Ambient Heat
Even after extended use, the R540 doesn’t get as hot as other notebooks in its class. After Vostro 1710 Battery watching a Hulu clip at full screen for 15 minutes, we measured temperatures of 88 degrees on the touchpad, 89 degrees at the center of the keyboard, and 83 degrees on the underside of the machine. (It did, however, reach a hot 100 degrees near the vent.) That’s not bad when you consider that the average notebook this size Vostro 1720 Battery reaches temperatures of 90, 93, and 97 degrees in the same spots.

Display and Sound
The 15.6-inch display has a resolution of 1366 x 768, which is standard for an inexpensive notebook of this size, and is good dell Latitude E5400 Battery enough to watch 720p video. Although it has a Blu-ray player, the benefits might be lost on this lower-resolution display. When we watched "The Other Boleyn Girl" on Blu-ray, the picture was sharp, colors accurate, and the screen bright, but thanks to the display’s glossy finish we had a hard time making out the picture when watching dell Latitude E4300 Battery from the sides or with the lid pushed forward.

The twin speakers, located above dell Latitude E6500 Battery the keyboard, produced fairly strong sound, given that this isn’t a souped-up multimedia machine. "Maria, Maria" by Santana, for instance, sounded as it should both at medium and high volumes, and at all times we were able to make out the strong bass notes. More guitar-based battery songs, such as "Someday" by The Strokes, sounded clear and balanced as well.

Ports and Webcam
The R540 has a predictable range good battery of ports, including three USB 2.0, HDMI and VGA output, an Ethernet jack, Kensington lock slot, dell Latitude E5500 Battery headphone and mic ports, and an SD card reader. (While SD is the most common format, people who own, say, Sony cameras and use Memory Stick cards, are out of luck.)

The webcam’s VGA video was adequate, but good battery during a Skype call voices sounded weak and not completely clear. We could hear an echo when we spoke, and voices became harder to make out even when we simply leaned back in our chair, away from the camera. On the plus side, our videos and still photos battery were well-lit, and the included CyberLink YouCam software offers an array of fun filters, animations, 2D frames, and avatars
