Sony VGP-BPS22A Battery,Sony VGP-BPS22A Battery

The N53JF sports a 15.6-inch, full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) glossy display VGP-BPS13 that provides a gorgeous canvas for Blu-ray movies and other 1080p content. When watching a Blu-ray of Iron Man we noted bright, popping colors and vgp-bps8 smooth action sequences. We noted no pixelation or artifacts when transferring from light to dark scenes, and we appreciated the wide viewing angles. Glossy screens mean reflections, though, and ours proved somewhat distracting when watching VGP-BPS13A/B flicks.

The real star of the multimedia experience are the huge Bang & Olfson VGP-BPS9/S speakers. They’re backed by ASUS’ SonicMaster technology, which allows users to customize audio output both on the speakers and when listening via VGP-BPS9/B headphones. The result is rich audio with a wide range that’s well above the average notebook.

Now that 15-inch notebooks are the new family PCs, you’ll want a hub that can do it all: web surfing, word VGP-BPS9A/B processing, streaming movies, photo and video editing, and, yes, even gaming. The Samsung RF510 ($729 on Amazon) answers the call for VGP-BPS9 versatility by combining a Core i5 processor with discrete Nvidia graphics, stylish looks, and a responsive keyboard. But is this 5.6-pound system really good VGP-BPS22A enough to play demanding games or full HD videos?

Design
At 14.9 x 10.1 X 1.5 inches and 5.6 pounds, the RF510 is too bulky to carry around all day but light enough to VGP-BPS22 move from the living room to the bedroom and then the kids’ room in a flash. It’s also noticeably lighter than the Dell XPS 15 (6.1 pounds, 15 x 10.4 x VGP-BPS8 1.5 inches).

The 3.5 x 2.3-inch touchpad has a pleasant VGP-BPS8A matte surface that allowed us to navigate around the desktop with great accuracy and execute pinch-to-zoom gestures smoothly. The notebook’s discrete touchpad buttons offered just the right amount of feedback; that’s a welcome VGP-BPS2 improvement over the SF510’s jerky clickpad.

Heat
The Samsung RF510 stayed pleasantly cool throughout our testing. Even after VGP-BPS2A streaming video at full screen for 15 minutes, the keyboard measured a temperate 92 degrees. The touchpad clocked in at a chilly 89 degrees, as did the VGP-BPS2B middle bottom area. Those numbers are excellent, because we consider anything below 95 degrees comfortable and anything below 90 degrees imperceptible. By comparison, the bottom of the Dell XPS 15 reached a warm 102 VGP-BPS2C degrees.

Go big or go home. That’s the mantra of the HP Envy 17 3D. This large but stylish VGP-BPS13A/Q desktop replacement features an Intel Core i7 processor, powerful ATI graphics, a 3D-capable, full HD display, and a Blu-ray player. Starting VGP-BPS13/B at $1,599 ($1,649 as configured), the 3D version of the notebook costs the same as a similarly equipped non-3D version we reviewed just three months ago. Sounds like a sweet deal. But how does this machine stack up to laptops powered by Nvidia’s 3D VGP-BPS13B/B Vision technology? And is there enough 3D content to make donning those glasses worth the trouble? Our in-depth review VGP-BPS13B/Q reveals all.

Editor’s Note: Portions of this review were taken from our earlier review VGP-BPS13A/S of the HP Envy 17.

Though sized like a family PC, the Samsung RF510 has VGP-BPS13/Q a sleek, black aesthetic that looks equally at home in the living room and the conference room. The glossy black lid, which resists most fingerprints, is emblazoned with a chrome Samsung logo and accented by chrome hinges and chrome lines on the left and right sides. VGP-BPS21A/B Though we like the ivory design and curved shape of the less expensive Samsung SF510, the RF510’s sleek aethetic looks more VGP-BPS21/S professional.

Once opened, the notebook looks even classier. A VGP-BPS21 comfortable matte black palmrest sits below an island-style keyboard with tastefully rounded keys and a chrome-colored background. Above the keyboard is a chrome button area with volume controls, Wi-Fi on/off, and power buttons with sci-fi blue lighting behind them. VGP-BPS21A The subtle speaker holes that run across the entire width of the upper deck add to the high-tech aesthetic. Even the screen bezel has a subtle VGP-BPS21B dotted pattern that matches the speaker holes.

Keyboard and Touchpad
The RF510’s island-style keyboard sports a numeric keypad and offers solid tactile feedback good battery and a smooth key surface, though it lacks a backlight. We scored our typical rate of 80 words per minute on the Ten Thumbs Typing Test, dell akku with a modest 2 percent error rate.

At 15.6 x 10.6 x 1.6 inches and 6.4 pounds, the N53JF is heavier than competing notebooks such as the Dell XPS 15 (6.1 pounds) acer akku and Lenovo IdeaPad Y560d (6.2 pounds), but comes off as sleek because of its design. Just don’t plan on traveling with apple akku this laptop.

Heat
After playing a Hulu clip at full screen for 15 minutes we measured temperatures on ibm akku the N53JF’s touchpad (83 degrees), keyboard between the G&H keys (86 degrees), and the middle of the underside (88 degrees). All of these hp akku temperatures are comfortably below the category average.

A well-rounded entertainment notebook needs to deliver plenty of eye candy and back it up with stellar sound. And that’s exactly what the sony akku ASUS N53JF-XE1 does. This 15.6-inch laptop ($1,094 as configured) pairs a full HD display with booming Bang & Olufsen speakers. asus akku What about performance? The N53JF has you covered there, too, with a Core i5 processor and Nvidia GeForce GT 425M graphics. We have a fujitsu akku couple of complaints, but overall this machine kicks ass and looks good doing it.

Design
The ASUS N53JF is one of the few notebooks that utilizes a very limited palette (did you know there were this many shades toshiba akku of gray?) yet manages to look stylish. The fine lines of the brushed metal lid lead gracefully to the slick little curve at the hinge, which adds a bit acer laptop akku of a wave to the deck. The palm rest is also made of metal, which gives the laptop a sturdy feel.

The multimedia DNA in the N53JF becomes apparent apple laptop akku the minute you see the huge speaker bar dominating the deck. A strip of chrome above the keyboard houses buttons for multimedia, power, imb laptop akku and more.

Keyboard and Touchpad
The N53JF features a new "wave" keyboard with large keys, along with a numberpad on the right. The latter’s small size is fine for crunching hp laptop akku numbers but might turn off gamers. While typing, the key feel was bouncy but slightly mushy, and we noticed sony laptop akku some flex.

The 3.25 x 2.1-inch touchpad is a nice size (it could be bigger, given how much space asus laptop akku there is on the deck), and has just the right amount of matte texture on the surface for smooth navigation. The single mouse bar beneath is fujitsu laptop akku not only a finger smudge magnet, but also marginally stiff.

We compared N53JF with the Dell XPS 15, which delivered the best notebook audio quality of all the notebooks we tested toshiba laptop akku this year. When playing tracks with driving bass, such as "Pick U Up" by Adam Lambert or "Beautiful Dangerous" by Slash and Fergie, the XPS dell laptop akku 15 was the clear winner. However, with tracks that soar upwards or rely heavily on acoustics, such as "Dryad’s Promise" by Tricky Pixie or "acer notebook akku Legions (War)" by Zoe Keating, the N53JF fared better. Overall, the XPS 15 has the best sound system, but the N53JF is a close second.

Ports and Webcam
Never one to skimp on ports, ASUS packs in a few designed with the media maven in mind. The HDMI 1.4 port is ready apple notebook akku for the next generation of HD connectivity. And the USB 3.0 port next to it ensures you’ll be able to take advantage of super speedy external ibm notebook akku drives and other enhanced peripherals down the line. You’ll also find a USB/eSATA port, plus two more USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, VGA, a 5-in-1 hp notebook akku memory card slot, headphone, mic, and a Blu-ray drive.

The 2-megapixel webcam above the display is just okay. The images it produced weren’t the sharpest, but while chatting sony notebook akku on Skype our friend noted that the camera continually adjusted for different lighting as we moved around and didn’t see asus notebook akku much blur.

It looks like Acer may soon begin shipping a version of its popular Aspire VGP-BPS13 One netbook that’s powered by AMD’s new Fusion platform, rather than Intel Atom. Macles, a blog that has often carried accurate Acer leaks in the VGP-BPS13A/B past, reports that the new system will be called the Aspire One 522 and will be powered by the AMC C-50 APU, with two 1-GHz cores and Radeon 6250 graphics capable of supporting Direct X11 games and UVD video decoding. If you’ve never heard VGP-BPS9/S of an APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) before, it’s AMD’s new name for its combined graphics and CPU VGP-BPS9A/B chip.

Now that 15-inch notebooks are the new family PCs, you’ll want a hub that can do it all: web surfing, VGP-BPS9/B word processing, streaming movies, photo and video editing, and, yes, even gaming. It’s also noticeably lighter than the vgp-bps13b/q Dell XPS 15 (6.1 pounds, 15 x 10.4 x 1.5 inches).

According to Macles, the Aspire One 522 will have the same chassis design, keyboard, and touchpad as several other 10.1-inch Acer vgp-bps13a/q netbooks, including the Aspire One D255. However, it will have a 1280 x 720 (aka 720p) screen and an HDMI out port that vgp-bps13/b allow users to take full advantage of its faster graphics. It will also come in, among other colors, a nice light green color vgp-bps13/q (shown above).

Unlike other companies pursuing the Android tablet market, Acer is holding Lenovo thinkpad t61 battery off releasing its line of tablets (which include 5-inch, 7-inch, and 10-inch models) until after Google releases tablet-optimized Lenovo thinkpad t60 battery Honeycomb. While Acer may be waiting for a fully tablet-oriented version of Android, that doesn’t mean that the company isn’t already focused on its own interface tweaks.

Three leaked videos appeared on YouTube that appear to show off the company’s upcoming 10-inch tablet running its Lenovo thinkpad t60p battery custom UI. The demos seem to indicate that the slate is currently running Froyo and definitely show that Acer’s custom interface is still in Lenovo thinkpad r60 battery development. Despite being rough around the edges, the videos showcase the gyroscope built into the device and how Acer is IBM thinkpad r60e battery taking advantage of it as a unique way to flip pages in an eReader app and to move through a collection of photos (both the collection’s thumbnails and full size Lenovo thinkpad x60 battery images).

This isn’t the first device we’ve seen a gyroscope in (Apple introduced one in the iPhone 4), vgp-bps21a but this is certainly taking advantage of it in a new way. These look cool, but don’t really bring much new functionality over more traditional vgp-bps21/s swiping gestures. Of course, this is a development release and the UI will be probably modified before the final release (perhaps with more controls and more unique gyroscope-inspired vgp-bps21b features.

Though the new teaser video has no photos, vgp-bps21 Shih briefly showed off the EP121 when the company first announced it at Computex 2010 last June. Here’s a picture we snapped at that event

In the teaser, ASUS says that the device has a 12-inch screen, runs Windows 7, is powered by a Core i5 processor,vgp-bps21a/b has HDMI-out, a front-facing webcam, and offers a keyboard dock. Except for CPU being a Core i5, most of these details were announced back in June. One good battery of the blackboard drawings also shows someone drawing on the tablet with a stylus, making us wonder whether the Eee Pad EP121 apple akku will accept pen input. There’s no mention of anticipated battery life, but we have to wonder how long a 12-inch touchscreen device with a Core i5 CPU will last.

To get a closer look, check out the videos below, which originally come from YouTube but were copied to Engadget’s ibm akku player to preserve them (we couldn’t find all three on YouTube so we assume they sony akku were taken down).

The 2011 International Consumer Electronics show is less than two weeks away, hp akku but ASUS is already generating buzz around one of the tablets it plans to show there. If you’ve been standing on the location-based sidelines, there’s plenty of motivation to jump in now. Measuring 4.5 x 2.3 x 0.5 inches

Design
Measuring 4.5 x 2.3 x 0.5 inches, the candy bar-style LG Optimus T is relatively svelte VGP-BPS9/S and is sculpted with smooth, pocket-friendly curves. Highlighted with silver accents, our model sported a rubberized burgundy surface (it’s also VGP-BPS9A/B available in black or silver) which defeats fingerprints and provides a sure grip. Those with tight trousers may both curse and praise the Optimus T’s texture for friction-prone placements and for securely staying put. At a substantial 4.5 ounces, the phone does feel a bit hefty, vgp-bps21a/b and is almost as heavy as the more rugged Motorola Defy (4.7 ounces). That said, we liked its decidedly classy presence, especially compared to vgp-bps21 low-end Android phones like the Sanyo Zio.

Taking up most of the Optimus T’s front is a vgp-bps21b 3.2-inch TFT touchscreen. Four standard Android buttons sit below the display. Discrete Menu and Search keys flank an oval button that doubles for Home and Back functions; all buttons are backlit. You’ll find a microUSB port at the phone’s base and a 3.5-mm headphone vgp-bps21/s jack and power button on top. To access the included 2GB microSD card, you must remove the battery cover and flip open the card tray;vgp-bps21a fortunately, you don’t have to remove the battery itself. On the back of the Optimus T is the 3.2 -megapixel camera, which lacks a flash.

Display
The Optimus T’s 3.2-inch touchscreen has a resolution of 480 x 320 pa3535u-1brs pixels. Though not as sharp as competing devices such as the Motorola Defy (a pleasantly high 854 x 480) it’s on a par with the Motorola Droid Pro. The screen, while small, was bright enough to see in daylight without any trouble. If conditions change, PA3534U-1BRS you’ll have to set the brightness manually since the Optimus T lacks an ambient light sensor.

By default, text entry on the Optimus T is accomplished using the Swype keyboard, which lets users glide vgp-bps13b/q fingers from key to key, connecting letters to swiftly spell words. It is, however, an acquired skill. The standard Android keyboard is vgp-bps13a/q available, too, which was responsive. One complaint we have is that since the display is relatively small, hitting the right keys can be tricky for large fingers.

Interface
The Optimus T runs a mostly stock version of Android 2.2 (Froyo) with slight tweaks to the app tray and web browser. There are the usual five vgp-bps13/b home screens, which you can flip through with the swipe of a finger and customize with the apps, shortcuts, and widgets of your choice. Pulling down vgp-bps13/q the notification window shade reveals system alerts. A menu soft-key, framed by phone and messaging shortcuts, opens the VGP-BPS13 application tray.

While nothing new to Android 2.2 handsets, T-Mobile highlights that Google Voice Actions technology is built into the Optimus T. VGP-BPS13A/B Pressing the search button for a few seconds from any location launches the voice input window. Speaking commands such as search, e-mail, find, or VGP-BPS9 text will open the appropriate app and begin the requested operation. We successfully commanded the Optimus to find local VGP-BPS10 restaurants and create text messages to specific contacts. Our spoken words were also transcribed as text correctly

Today, ASUS held a press conference announcing numerous upcoming devices in Taiwan. With all these releases, the most interesting notebook VGP-BPS9/B revealed at the press conference is the ASUS U36JC. Though it has a 13.3-inch display, there’s some serious power behind this 3000 v100 battery compact notebook.

The ASUS U36JC sports a 13.3-inch screen 3000 v200 battery with a typical notebook resolution of 1366 x 768. Netbook news labels the display as “tragically glossy”, which is noticeable in photos of the notebook. Powered by Intel’s Core i5 processor, the U36JC gets serious about graphics with Nvidia’s GeForce 310M with 3000 n100 battery 1GB of DDR3 RAM.

Did we mention it has 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a 500GB 7200RPM The storage device 3000 n200 battery that holds your OS, programs, and data.
Learn Morehard drive? Weighing in at about 3.65lbs, 3000 c200 battery the ASUS U36JC is a great combination of power and portability for travelers.

A 4-in-1 card reader, VGA, HDMI, 2 USB 2.0 ports and a USB 3.0 port align the sides of the ASUS U36JC. 6-cell and 8-cell 3000 y410 battery batteries will power the notebook, though there’s no official word on projected battery life. A webcam is also integrated into the notebook in order Lenovo r51e battery to use Skype on the go.
All in all, the ASUS U36JC is shaping up to be Lenovo r50e battery one powerfully ultraportable. Expect it to run you a cool $1100, a bit high compared to other 13-inch notebooks on the market. This isn’t in the US market yet, but if you can’t wait to get your hands on the U36JC pre-orders are being taken in Taiwan Lenovo x300 battery right now

Do you have an Android lover on your holiday list? I’m not talking someone who just kind Lenovo x200 battery of appreciates their Android phone, but someone who collects little Andy the Android action figures and maybe even goes so far as to thinkpad r61 battery tattoo him on his or her body. Even if your friends and loved ones aren’t that intense about their Android love, you will probably find something really cute or awesome (or both) to give them over in the Android thinkpad t400 battery Swag store.

Now anyone can take the little green robot thinkpad t500 battery and slap it on a shirt or something and call it swag. However, the guys behind AS are giant Android nerds and they demand the best. We’re talking this sweet “May the Source Be With You” shirt, or these cute Android beanies (I have the green one), or this thinkpad t61 battery surprisingly tasteful Android purse. I also have a soft spot for the Android USB chargers, and true fans will want this collectible set thinkpad t60 battery of Andy action figures

“Should I wait or buy now?” I get asked this thinkpad t60p battery question constantly, because everyone wants to know whether there’s some better, faster, or cheaper gadget coming around the bend that will make the device they covet today seem thinkpad r60 battery dated.

Nobody ever asks for this type of advice about other life decisions. My wife doesn’t call me from Wal-Mart to ask “should I buy these thinkpad r60e battery green towels for the bathroom or wait to see if Martha Stewart comes out with more absorbent ones next year?” My tweener niece doesn’t thinkpad x60 battery wonder whether she should purchase Justin Bieber’s My World 2.0 or wait to get his next album either. But when it comes to thinkpad X60S battery technology everyone has a theory about how the future could be better than the present, from my friend who’s holding out for the long-rumored Verizon iPhone to the other who wants to see what Motorola has up its thinkpad t40 battery sleeve in 2011.

When people ask me whether they should buy a new notebook, thinkpad t42 battery smart phone, or tablet, I always ask them a simple question in response: “when do you need it?” If you need a new computer today, because your current one is broken–or so slow it might as well be–you really don’t have time to wait. But what thinkpad t43 battery if your need isn’t that urgent? Is now the time to buy, particularly in light of the huge holiday sales available? Let’s break this down good battery by product type.

Hands-On With Ping, Apple’s (Not Very) Social Network

Realizing that sites such as Facebook aren’t going away, Apple is now beefing up VGP-BPS8 music discovery capabilities in iTunes via its new social networking engine, called Ping.

Like Facebook, Ping will let iTunes users follow friends and artists’ news feeds and listening habits, and see when and where their favorite musicians dell Vostro 1710 Battery are playing, among other things

Now that Ping has been released, we went hands-on to see VGP-BPS9/B what it’s all about. Is Apple’s new music-centric social network going to be an instant classic, or a one-hit wonder?
iTunes 10 is easy enough to set up–you can download the program on Apple’s website and installation is the same as always. Everything is mostly unchanged–in particular, the album art browser integration that Jobs showed off cleans up the interface considerably.

Ping, which is nestled right next to the Store icon
, is tied into your iTunes account, and when you open up the service for the first time, it’ll ask you to log in. After this, you’ll be walked through several steps to create your VGP-BPS9A/B Ping profile, which includes choosing songs for the “Music I Like” sidebar: This displays up to 10 songs and works similarly to MySpace’s “Top Friends” feature.

Compared to Facebook’s Byzantine settings, Ping’s privacy controls are very basic and straightforward–you can choose VGP-BPS9 to let others follow you (provided you approve them), or disallow any followers.

Like Facebook, the news feed is the centerpiece VGP-BPS9/S of Ping’s user experience. Here, you’ll see status updates from the people and artists that you follow. Items range from songs that users liked and videos to concert plans and recent purchases, all of which you can “like” and comment on.

Artist pages function similar to band pages on Myspace. On cellist Yo-Yo Ma’s page-he’s one of a handful of artists who had pages ready for Ping’s launch–you can see information such as photos and videos posted by him. Ma’s page, like other artist pages, shows information like status updates while he’s on tour, photos that he posted and concert listings. If you say Lenovo/IBM Thinkpad R61 Battery that you plan on going, that information also shows up in your activity feed.

Right now, though, the biggest problems with Ping come down to numbers. There aren’t many artists Thinkpad T61 Battery or people who’ve jumped onto the Ping bandwagon and for a social network that’s built on connecting those two groups, that’s a major problem.

When we searched Ping, we couldn’t find pages for a number Thinkpad T60 Battery of major bands, such as Arcade Fire, Ke$ha, and LCD Soundsystem. Likewise, it’s a massive burden to simply try and find people to follow–the only way to add contacts is by manually inserting email addresses. No options exist for combing address books or other social networks to find contacts who also use Ping.

Despite being prominently featured in many of the promotional photos from yesterday’s Sony Laptop Battery conference, Facebook Connect also isn’t included in Ping, as of today. However, Cult of Mac did spot Facebook Connect in Ping, suggesting that Apple pulled Facebook out of Ping late in the game–Jobs told AllThingsD’s Kara Swisher that they couldn’t agree to Facebook’s “onerous terms.”

Ultimately, Ping’s limited usefulness undercuts much of the network’s potential. Given iTunes’ ubiquity and the fact that Ping is thoroughly integrated into the program, the service already has a massive user base. There’s a lot of interesting functionality within Ping, but without a way to easily add friends and build the social aspect good battery of the network, it can’t help but feel like a bit of a letdown for now.

Updated Hands-On Video: 7-Inch Samsung Galaxy Tab Gets Official: Android Market, 3G, and Speedy Performance

Ever since the advent of Android lovers of the mobile OS have been eager Lenovo/IBM Thinkpad T61 Battery to have it not just on their mobile phones, but large-screen devices as well. The open-source, Wild West aura of the platform spurred many early attempts and a slew of commercial products ranging from netbooks to eReaders to tablets. And it’s in this last category that geeks like myself have placed all their hope in non-phone Android awesomeness. And it’s in this category that devices have so often let us down.

However, here at IFA in Berlin Lenovo/IBM Thinkpad T60P Battery that’s all about to change. The story out of this conference is going to be tablets, tablets, tablets (for real this time!), and the one I’m anticipating the most is the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The company announced the international version of this device today, which has me all excited for when it finally makes its way across the pond.

We’ve seen 7-inch Android tablets before, right? What usually stops them from being awesome is sluggish performance, terrible screens, older versions of the OS, and a lack of apps from the manufacturer plus the conspicuous absence of the Google Market. The Galaxy Tab has none of these issues.

In my hands-on time with the device, I was impressed with the speed and smoothness of the Android 2.2 experience, sony VGP-BPS9/S battery which was similar to what we’ve seen performance-wise on Samsung’s Galaxy S phones. The 1.0-GHz Cortex A8 processor and 512MB of memory ensure that apps and media run fast. And the gorgeous 7-inch WSVGA screen sports capacitive touch, not resistive. While my fingernails keep me from enjoying this to the fullest, it’s certainly far better than many of the resistive implementations we’ve seen recently.

The big news on the software side is that the Galaxy Tab is a Google Certified device, so it sony VGP-BPS9 battery will have the Android Market. In my experience many apps developed for phones will work with larger screens, but Samsung is also working with developers to ensure that owners will have a plethora of apps that not only work with, but are designed for the 7-inch form factor.

In addition to the market, Samsung has its own apps on board Sony VGP-BPS9A/B Battery that they’ve tweaked just for bigger displays. For instance, the company’s email app shows a list of messages similar to phone implementations in portrait mode, but switch to landscape and you get two columns: the message list on one side and the full text of the email on the other. The notes app works similarly, and we love the robust calendar.

Other pre-loaded apps include Thinkfree Office for creating and editing documents and the Swype keyboard. Users sony VGP-BPS9/B Battery will be able to download more in the future from Samsung Apps.

One of the global model’s software offerings I’m excited about is the Reader’s Hub, a unified app Sony VGP-BPS8 Battery that pulls eBook and ePeriodical material from multiple sources: Kobo, PressDisplay, and Zinio. And since users will also be able to download other eBookstore apps via the Android Market, the Tab should make a very powerful reading device.

But of course you’ll want to do more with that beautiful screen. Like Dell Studio 17 Battery watch movies and TV shows. The tablet supports DivX, XviD, MPEG4, H.263, and H.264 formats, amongst others. With up to 32GB of internal memory available plus a media card slot that can handle up to an additional 32GB, most users will be able to carry around a hefty library of video, music, and pictures. Samsung promises up to 7 hours of movie playback as well.

Other specs include two cameras, one facing the back and the front. And in Europe people will be able to use the Tab as a telephony Dell Studio 1737 Battery device over 3G HSPA or 802.11n wireless. Video conferencing, voice calls, speakerphone, Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, the works. Globally, Samsung intends to sell the devices via telecom carriers, not directly to consumers. Though a Wi-Fi only version isn’t out of the question, right now they’re focusing strictly on carrier-based sales.

As far as accessories go, Samsung has a few in the works. A keyboard, naturally, though it’s a dock Dell Studio 1535 Battery rather than a wireless one. A regular dock, stylus, data cables (including one for TV-Out via RCA), leather and plastic covers, and a car dock.

Overall, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy Tab is finally the droid Sony Laptop Battery we’ve been looking for. Speedy performance, great UI, a mountain of apps, a great screen, and Google is even on board. We hope this is the shape of things to come in the Android tablet space. The device will be available in Europe in mid-September. Availability for other markets (including the U.S.) haven’t been announced yet, but we’ll let you know when you can start saving your pennies for it.

Toshiba Libretto W105

While this pricey dual-screen tablet has a number of clever innovations, short battery life Sony VGP-BPS8 Battery and other flaws make it a tough sell.

With all the talk about Android tablets, including one sony VGP-BPS9/B Battery from Toshiba, the Toshiba Libretto W105 is definitely an outlier. It’s the first high-profile Windows 7 touchscreen device to launch this year, and it features a unique dual-screen design that Toshiba calls an experiment. And, like most experiments, there are some aspects of this device that succeed (bundled touch apps, plenty of keyboard choices), and others that fall flat (battery life, heat). At $1,099–and in limited supply–this device is geared for, and will appeal mainly to, early adopters looking for something exotic. So should you snatch one up, or leave the W105 for gadget collectors?

Design

When closed, the all-black Libretto W105 looks like a thicker version of the Sony VAIO P, another device that’s neither fish nor Sony VGP-BPS9A/B Battery fowl. The Libretto measures 8 x 4.8 x 1.2 inches, and weighs 1.8 pounds, just 0.4 pounds more than the VAIO P.

When opened, the Libretto’s W105 footprint is roughly the same as the iPad, which is when this sony VGP-BPS9 battery curiosity reveals its audacious design. Both halves are dominated by a large 7-inch touchscreen. On the upper half, a power button sits to the right of the screen; the left has a webcam. The bottom half, too, only has two buttons: the left one activates the on-screen keyboard. The right is the Home button, which moves the taskbar to the upper display, and opens Toshiba’s Bulletin Board app in the bottom display.

When sitting on a desk, the weight of the lower sony VGP-BPS9/S battery half kept the Libretto W105 from tipping backwards, even with the upper display tilted far back. Turned sideways, we found the device most comfortable to hold in the middle with our right hand.

Ports are limited to just one USB and a headphone jack.

Heat

After playing a Hulu video at full screen for 15 minutes, the lower screen remained a cool 79 degrees, but the upper half Dell Studio 17 Battery was a scorching 117 degrees; Toshiba even places a warning sticker on the hottest area. Moreover, the fan on the Libretto seemed to be working overtime, and was clearly audible even with other noise in the room. If you’re holding the Libretto by the bottom half, the heat won’t be an issue, but if you’re holding it on its side, like a book, it’s quite uncomfortable.

Display(s)

As mentioned, the Libretto has two 7-inch touchscreens, both with a resolution of 1024 x 600, Dell Studio 1737 Battery and both with haptic feedback, which is helpful when typing on the virtual keyboard (more on that below). Both were very crisp and bright; despite their small size, two people sitting on either side would be able to see movies on screen without any problems.

The Libretto has an accelerometer that automatically switches both displays from landscape to portrait when turned sideways. Unfortunately, the transition is less than seamless; it takes a good 10 seconds for the displays to switch, during which time Dell Studio 1535 Battery they go blank. By comparison, when you rotate the iPad, the change is instantaneous. Moreover, you can only rotate the Libretto in one direction, so that the side with the battery is in your left hand. Considering smart phones can be turned 360 degrees, we wonder about this omission.

Touchscreen Features

Windows 7 has never offered a touchscreen-friendly interface, and its limitations are once again evident on the Libretto W105. Trying VGP-BPS13B/Q to press tiny icons with our finger was highly frustrating. Fortunately, Toshiba included a number of software enhancements . A series of icons in the taskbar–just a bit larger than the standard Windows icons–let you adjust the volume, magnify sections of the screen, and pull up a virtual keyboard and a virtual touchpad.

The touchpad was especially helpful. For example, we were able to use our thumb to move Sony Laptop Battery the cursor about the desktop and access items in the Start menu. You can opt for one that’s 2.7 by 1.4 inches, or a smaller 1.8 by 0.9-inch touchpad; we preferred the latter, as we didn’t have to stretch our thumb as much. However, the Libretto W105 would be greatly helped with an optical touchpad, as on the VAIO P or even the Viliv N5.

The keyboard was fairly easy to use, too. When open, Sony VGP-BPS13 Battery it takes up the entire lower display, and even has five different configurations, plus a number pad. The first two have just QWERTY keys with numbers above in slightly different sizes; a second shrinks the keys, but adds in the function row. The next two are split keyboards, the second of which we found easiest to use while typing–our thumbs didn’t have to reach as far toward the center of the screen. While you’re not going to write the next great American novel, it’s more than comfortable enough to bang out e-mails and memos.

On a few occasions, Windows got in the way: when we were trying to type in our router’s password, the keyboard Sony VGP-BPS13A/B Battery would cover up the window, so we couldn’t see where we were typing. Toshiba found a way around this issue, too: Pressing the Home button moves the taskbar to the upper screen, so obscured windows were no longer a problem.

When the Libretto is in this configuration, the lower screen is occupied good battery by the Toshiba Bulletin Board, which gave us easy access to Wi-Fi, diagnostics, and security and backup tools. Also, the icons for the volume, keyboard, etc. are even larger and easier to press. This is the setup that we preferred the most.

Lenovo ThinkPad T410s laptopbattery

As far as business notebooks go, the Lenovo ThinkPad T series has always received high marks for Sony VGP-BPS8 Battery excellent keyboards, TrackPoints, and performance. The latest in this line, the T410s, is the Weight Watchers version of the 14-inch T410. It’s lighter and thinner, yet possesses nearly the same performance. But is it worth $1,504?

Design
Last year, Lenovo slimmed down and jazzed up the traditional ThinkPad T series design when it released the slimmer ThinkPad T400s. Now some of the most attractive elements of the T400s have made their way into the T410s,sony VGP-BPS9/B Battery including the more angular shape of the sides, and the new keyboard/LCD light layout. This new look is more evolutionary than revolutionary, but it makes the system look much more modern and attractive.

The materials used in the T410s’s chassis make it more durable and stylish at the same time. The Sony VGP-BPS9A/B Battery chassis features a lid made from ABS plastic and a strong carbon-fiber reinforced plastic bottom. An internal roll cage helps protect the notebook from damage.

While the T410 measured 13.1 x 9.4 x 1.3 inches and weighed 5.2 pounds with its standard sony VGP-BPS9 battery six-cell battery, the T410s is a much lighter 3.8 pounds and only 1 inch thick, making it closer to the Sony VAIO Z than the HP EliteBook 8450p.

Keyboard and Touchpad
The T410s sports the same keyboard that we fell in love sony VGP-BPS9/S battery with on the T400s. It feature the strong tactile feel that made Lenovo famous, along with new, enlarged Esc and Delete keys.

Like most ThinkPads, the T410s features both a TrackPoint pointing stick and a touchpad. We’re big fans of the TrackPoint because Dell Studio 17 Battery it’s highly accurate and allows you to navigate the desktop without lifting your fingers from the home row. However, if you prefer touchpads, you’ll appreciate the extremely accurate, textured surface on the touchpad. It also supports multitouch gestures such as pinch-to-zoom and two-finger scrolls. Unlike some touchpads we’ve used, zooming in and out is smooth and accurate.

Heat
Throughout our testing, the T410s remained very cool to the touch. After playing 15 minutes Dell Studio 1737 Battery of Hulu video, measured 88 degrees Fahrenheit at the bottom, 77 degrees on the touchpad, and 86 degrees between the G and H keys. All are well below the T410, which exceeded 90 degrees in every area.

Display and Sound
The ThinkPad T410s’ 14.1-inch LED backlit screen is available Dell Studio 1535 Battery in just one resolution: 1440 x 900 (the T410 can be purchased with a 1280 x 800-pixel screen). It offered sharp, bright images. Vertical viewing angles were limited to just a few degrees, but were decent horizontally to nearly 90 degree angles to the right or left.

While still images and games looked good on the T410s, videos were another story. Playback was smooth, but dark areas were filled VGP-BPS13B/Q with some noise and pixelation. We noticed it more when watching Star Trek VII: First Contact on Hulu than we did on a file downloaded from Microsoft’s WMV HD Content Showcase.

Audio from the T410s’ speakers was good for a business system. While slightly soft, there VGP-BPS13/B was adequate bass, and higher tones were well defined.

Ports and Webcam
Unlike the more spacious T410, ports are kept to a minimum Sony Laptop Battery on the T410s. The left side of the chassis contains an ExpressCard/34 slot, one USB port, and an audio in/out port. The back holds an eSATA connection, a powered USB, VGA, Ethernet, and DisplayPort. The right is empty save for the tray-loading DVD drive and Kensington lock slot.

Images were sharp and clear when using the webcam in our dimly lit living room. The video over Skype good battery was very smooth.
