The Droid Pro and Droid 2 have nearly identical dimensions, but the latter weighs more VGP-BPS9 than a ounce more (4.7 vs. 6 ounces). But in addition to its larger display, the Droid 2 includes 8 GB of built-in memory and includes a built-in 8 GB VGP-BPS9/B microSD card, versus the 2 + 2 GB in the Droid Pro. This Droid has four capacitive buttons above the keyboard, which, while responsive, felt like a disconnect in that this handset has physical VGP-BPS9/S keys.

Behind the easily pried-off battery cover is the microSD card slot, which is guarded by a springy plastic bumper clip VGP-BPS9A/B that’s difficult to remove. However, you’ll want to do this because you only get 2 GB out of the box.

By adding a QWERTY keyboard to its face, Motorola has reduced the space for a screen, VGP-BPS8A thus the 3.1-inch 480 x 320 (HVGA) TFT display is larger but has a lower resolution than on the BlackBerry Tour and Torch (2.4 inches, 480 x 360), VGP-BPS13 and 0.6 inches smaller than the 3.7-inch 854 x 480 WVGA screen on the Droid 2.

The Droid Pro’s screen is not only smaller than other Droids’, but it’s not as crisp, either. Small text on websites is squint-VGP-BPS13A/B inducing. You’ll definitely need to zoom in on this device. On the other hand, apps such as Angry Birds looked fine on this scrunched VGP-BPS13A/Q display.

How do you differentiate between a "consumer" VGP-BPS13/B smart phone and a "business" smart phone? Motorola attempts to answer that question with the Droid Pro ($179 on Verizon), an Android 2.2 device with a physical QWERTY keyboard, a pre-installed light version of the Quickoffice Mobile Suite, VGP-BPS13B/B and Microsoft Exchange support for secure corporate e-mail. But while Motorola has added these pro amenities, you’ll need to make some sacrifices to VGP-BPS13B/Q carry this BlackBerry alternative, including a half inch of screen size. So should business users opt for the Droid Pro over consumer-focused Droids and RIM’s VGP-BPS13A/S latest devices? It depends on your priorities.

Design
In many ways, the Droid Pro is a throwback, design-wise, to the many BlackBerry black slab imitators–an elongated VGP-BPS13/Q 3.1-inch 480 x 320 HVGA touchscreen situated above a three-line QWERTY keyboard. Inserted into the silver-banded perimeter are a volume toggle VGP-BPS21A/B and the micro USB jack on the left side, an assignable function key on the right, and a screen on/off and 3.5mm headphone jack up top. Around back, the VGP-BPS21/S 5-megapixel camera/LED flash assembly forms a bit of a hump, which makes the Pro a bit thinner than its stated 0.46-inch thickness.

Keyboard
The Droid Pro’s most important differentiating physical feature is its QWERTY keyboard. The tall rectangular keys are wedged, VGP-BPS21 with the wedge ridge located on the right side of each key on the left-hand side of the keyboard, and toward the left on the right side. Keys and rows VGP-BPS21A are arranged checkerboard-style rather than staggered and, even though they are jammed together, the wedge ridges help avoid accidental adjacent VGP-BPS21B key presses.

Overall, the keys are large enough that you’ll likely type with more accuracy and confidence on this layout than VGP-BPS22 you would on a touchscreen-only phone. We also like that the keyboard never gets in the way of content. However, the keys felt a bit stiff, and required VGP-BPS22A more effort than we’d like to type. The humped keys on the Droid 2 are larger, staggered, and slightly easier to use, but you have to slide out the keyboard to VGP-BPS13B/S enter text, which can be a pain. And the Droid 2’s layout doesn’t offer as much travel. Having the keyboard always accessible can make a big difference, too, whether it’s typing a quick tweet or using Android’s universal search VGP-BPS13S feature.

The VAIO F is crafted from black and dark gray plastics. While this lends a sober, VGP-BPS13/S business-like style to the laptop, it also isn’t what we’d call terribly premium; other machines in this price range offer metallic finishes. There is a little bit VGP-BPS13AS of flair here, such as the power button that sits in the circular hinge and glows green when the laptop is on and slowly pulses orange when asleep. Above the keyboard is a long speaker grille which subtly blends into the VAIO F’s dark gray color scheme. The expansive palm rest area is delicately textured.

The VAIO F didn’t get hot under the collar. After playing a Hulu video at full screen for 15 minutes, we VGP-BPS2 measured the temperature at the center of the keyboard to be 93 degrees. The touchpad returned a slightly cooler reading of 90 degrees, and the underside of the chassis VGP-BPS2A registered 89 degrees. However, once the laptop really starts to flex its muscle, fans begin to audibly pump air out of vents on the VAIO’s VGP-BPS2B left side.

The VAIO F’s large, comfortable keyboard is virtually identical to the previous F series model we enjoyed VGP-BPS2C before. Featuring big, black, chiclet-style keys that are similar to those found on MacBooks, the keyboard offered satisfying feedback with a nice soft pop with each stroke. VGP-BPS21A/B Another welcome feature is the backlighting. Illumination is set to adjust automatically by default, but you can also toggle brightness manually to suit your tastes.

By comparison, keys on the typical BlackBerry are spaced apart a bit in slightly VGP-BPS21/S curved rows. This approach results in speedier typing on candy bar designs such as the BlackBerry Tour, but the Torch slider phone’s keyboard feels flat compared to this device. We prefer the Droid Pro for typing.

There are notebooks made for travel, and there are VGP-BPS21 notebooks made for entertainment. Sony’s latest VAIO F (VPC-F136FM/B) falls in the latter camp. Boasting a high-resolution, 16.4-inch widescreen, the latest Core i7 processor, robust NVIDIA GeForce 3D graphics, and even a Blu-VGP-BPS21A ray drive, the VAIO F ($1,299 at Best Buy) offers plenty to love. Meant for users who often roam from room to room, the VAIO F provides lots of computing power VGP-BPS21B and multimedia prowess minus the size of a traditional desktop rig. Still, $1,299 is nothing to sneeze at. Check out the full review below as we delve into this machine’s strengths VGP-BPS22 and weaknesses to help you decide if it’s worth the splurge.

Design-wise, the Sony VAIO F plays a very VGP-BPS22A conservative game. Our model’s chassis sports a smooth, matte gray lid, with the only embellishment being the understated Sony branding and larger VAIO logo writ in metallic silver. Weighing in at a hefty 6.4 pounds, the VAIO F has a decidedly laptop battery sturdy feel to it. Measuring 15.3 x 10.4 x 1.6 inches, the VAIO F can be stuffed into most laptop bags. However, this laptop’s girth will make you think twice about hp battery lugging it anywhere for long. That said, the VAIO F is lighter than other desktop-replacement laptops on the market, such as the HP Envy 17 (7.5 pounds).

To the right of the keyboard is a full number pad that will sony battery please home accountants and gamers alike. An unfortunate side effect of this addition is that the keyboard is shifted a little left on the deck. As a result, the touchpad sits directly below the spacebar and is positioned on the deck’s left side; this alignment dell battery can take some getting used to. Still, the touchpad provides friction-free navigation as well as multitouch gestures. Though not as big as the MacBook’s or the HP Envy ibm battery 17, the VIAO F’s 3.2 x 2-inch touchpad is also on the large side and offers lots of room to maneuver. The two mouse buttons below are big hp notebook akku as well.

Display
Outfitted with a 16.4-inch display, the VIAO F’s expansive screen pumps out a sharp resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels. sony notebook akku While its pixel density is not quite high enough to natively display 1080p video content, movies looked great on the laptop’s screen. After popping asus notebook akku in our Apocalypse Now Blu-ray disc, we were treated to an impressive show. The glossy screen delivered deep blacks in nighttime segments and rich fujitsu notebook akku colors especially during the pivotal chopper attack scene. Viewing angles were not bad either, letting groups gather around to enjoy the experience. That said, the VAIO’s display didn’t appear as bright as other large mainstream toshiba notebook akku notebooks we’ve tested, specifically the HP Envy 17 and Dell Studio 17.

Ports and Webcam
Due to this laptop’s large size, the VAIO F comes well equipped with connectors. Running along dell notebook akku the left side you’ll find Ethernet, VGA, and ExpressCard ports. There’s an HDMI connection for outputting HD video and sound to home theater acer battery systems. There’s also a combo eSATA/USB port and iLINK for connecting extra peripherals. Two more USB ports and the Blu-ray drive can be found on the VAIO F’s right side. There are headphone and mic jacks plus a S/PDIF port here apple battery as well. The front lip features Memory Stick and SD Card slots, plus a physical switch for activating the wireless radios.

The laptop’s 1.3-megapixel webcam is standard fare and identical to the one we saw ibm battery on the previous VAIO F Series earlier this year. It snaps colorful images, but photos and videos possessed the typical grainy quality we tend to see hp battery from notebook webcams. To control the camera, Sony bundles the ArcSoft WebCam Companion 3 software. We like this tool’s sleek black UI and its inclusion of some neat extras, such as Masques, which humorously lets you merge your mug sony battery with the body of, say, a baby or wizard.

Like other laptop vendors, Sony has outfitted the VAIO F’s webcam with motion-sensing asus battery technology, called Motion Eye. It automatically identifies your face and pans the camera accordingly to keep you in the frame and in focus. You fujitsu battery can also set the notebook up to operate in sentry mode. If movement is detected, the VAIO F automatically snaps a picture. These features worked fairly well, but the camera took a few seconds to lock on toshiba battery to faces.

Audio and Optional Headphones
The long speaker grille positioned directly below the screen and above the keyboard generates dell battery a sizeable amount of volume. Unfortunately, bass was noticeably lacking. Playing Slacker Radio tracks from electronic to Motown stations resulted in a acer laptop battery tinny, alarm clock radio sound. For music appreciation and proper audio treatment of movies, we suggest opting for a good set of headphones.

Speaking of which, Sony sells a new Digital Surround Headset System ($200) which promises to provide a virtual surround-sound apple laptop battery experience. The system consists of a DR-GA500 processing unit and a specially designed gaming headset. Essentially acting as both an external audio ibm laptop battey device and breakout box, the DR-GA500 supports analog audio inputs from stereo all the way up to 7.1 channels. For digital input, the DR-GA500 sony laptop battery connects to PCs via USB.

We tested this Digital Surround System with the VAIO F and found it improved our audio experience a good deal. saus laptop battery The bundled headphones are light and comfortable, provide a decent amount of bass, and sport a flip-down mic for audio chat during gameplay. Also fujitsu laptop battery cool are the DR-GA500’s surround audio effects. While not quite the amazing virtual surround as advertised, these cans did expand our toshiba laptop battery perceived sonic field and made music, movies, and games more enjoyable.

There’s one easy way to sum up the new 11-inch MacBook Air: It’s always ready Sony VGP-BPS13 Battery to go. Not only does this notebook weigh a mere 2.3 pounds and boast a razor-thin profile, its use of flash memory means you’ll never have Sony VGP-BPS13A/B Battery to wait to start surfing the web, touching up photos, or making FaceTime calls. Starting at $999 ($1,199 as configured), the 11-inch Air features a Core 2 Duo processor, Nvidia graphics, and more than 5 hours of battery life. That’s pretty remarkable for something Sony VGP-BPS13A/S Battery you barely notice is in your bag. Still, some cheaper Windows-powered ultraportables combine better CPU performance Sony VGP-BPS9 Battery with longer endurance. Is this MacBook mini worth it?

Design
Apple has applied its expertise in miniaturization to achieve a Sony VGP-BPS8 Battery design that’s unconsciously portable yet super sturdy. The 11-inch Air’s 2.3-pound weight is more than a full pound lighter than the 12-inch Asus Eee PC 1215N (3.4 pounds), and easier to tote than the Acer Aspire 1830t (3 pounds). Even Sony VGP-BPS9A/B Battery 10-inch netbooks such as the Toshiba NB305 (2.8 pounds) feel bulky by comparison. Part of the reason why the MacBook Air is so much lighter is Sony VGP-BPS9/B Battery that Apple put flash memory chips right on the logic board without using the typical storage enclosure.

Thanks to the 11-inch Air’s unibody aluminum housing, this machine Sony VGP-BPS9/S Battery feels a lot more durable than its plastic competition. It’s also very, very thin. The wedge-shaped profile measures from 0.11 to 0.68 inches yet manages to include two USB ports (one on each side), a headphone jack on the left, and a Sony VGP-BPS8A Battery mini DisplayPort on the right. The only thing missing is an SD Card slot, a feature available on the new 13-inch MacBook Air. This is a Sony VGP-BPS2 Battery disappointing omission, especially since 10-inch netbooks have had this slot for years. Apple simply ran out of room.

Our biggest issue with the design is that the lid on this Air Sony VGP-BPS2A Battery sometimes tilted backwards when we picked the machine up. This also happened when in a moving vehicle, especially when we hit bumps in the road or if the vehiicle slowed down somewhat abruptly. The display hinge is designed so that it doesn’t Sony VGP-BPS2B Battery tilt all the way back, but we still found this movement annoying.

Keyboard and Touchpad
A good ultraportable keyboard will make you forget that you’re using a smaller notebook, and the 11-inch Sony VGP-BPS2C Battery MacBook Air passes that test with flying colors. We typed this review, URLs, and other notes rapidly on the chiclet-style layout Sony VGP-BPS13A/Q Battery while enjoying crisp feedback. As per usual with Macs, the layout includes dedicated keys for adjusting the volume and brightness, playback controls, and both Expose and Dashboard. You’ll also find a power button in the upper right corner. The Sony VGP-BPS13/B Battery arrow keys are a bit small, but we had no trouble using them. The only bummer is that the keys aren’t backlit; that’s the price you pay Sony VGP-BPS13B/B Battery for such a slim profile.

Apple leverages its extra-large glass touchpad to full effect on the Sony VGP-BPS13B/Q Battery 11-inch MacBook Air, which provides pinpoint accuracy and a smooth navigation experience. It also integrates well with Mac OS X Snow Leopard, allowing users to execute all sorts of multitouch gestures. Pinch-to-zoom worked well Sony VGP-BPS13/Q Battery in iPhoto and Safari, and it was a cinch to minimize all open apps with a four-finger swipe downward. A three-finger swipe let us zip through Sony VGP-BPS9/B Battery pictures in iPhoto. Overall, this ultraportable offers a stellar ergonomic experience.

Display and Audio
At first we thought the somewhat thick bezel around the screen Sony VGP-BPS9/S Battery would prove distracting–until we turned the 11-inch MacBook Air on. You won’t find a brighter, crisper, or more colorful display on an notebook this class. Photo and video editors will find this 1366 x 768 panel easy on the eyes. Websites looked good Sony VGP-BPS9A/B Battery as well. The Air’s wide viewing angles allow you to share slideshows and videos with a couple of people.

The 11-inch MacBook Air may be thin, but the sound is anything but. Two stereo speakers project audio Sony VGP-BPS13 battery right through the top of the keyboard, pumping out surprisingly loud sound. When we cranked up the volume of a track by The vgp-bps21 Kooks on Pandora, we managed to annoy a few people while sitting in a hotel lobby. The audio wasn’t tinny either, which means you won’t necessarily have to don headphones to edit sound in iMovie and vgp-bps21a GarageBand.

FaceTime Camera

Thanks to a new FaceTime desktop beta application, MacBook owners can make video calls to other Mac dell akku owners, as well as to those who have an iPhone 4 and the latest iPod touch. The setup process was a bit of a pain, requiring us to create an sony akku account and verify our e-mail address online before proceeding. After that, though, we just gave a friend the e-mail address we used to sign up and he called us from his iPhone 4. While the video window was small, the quality was better than we expected, with warm hp akku colors and pretty good detail. We also found it neat that our video window automatically reoriented itself when the other caller turned his iPhone to landscape good battery mode. Of course, the built-in webcam can also be used for other chat apps and to record clips using iMovie.

HP on Tuesday introduced the Palm Pre 2 and its refreshed operating VGP-BPS8 Battery system webOS 2.0. Unlike Microsoft, which just had its Windows Phone 7 launch event last week, or Apple, who has a launch event for each new VGP-BPS8A Battery iPhone, HP has decided to go low-key with its Palm Pre 2 announcement, perhaps because the phone doesn’t look much different from its predecessor.

The Palm Pre 2 looks almost identical to the first Palm Pre, but this time around it will include the revamped webOS 2.0, a 1-GHz processor, VGP-BPS9 Battery and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording. The phone has the same 320 x 480 HVGA screen VGP-BPS9/S Battery and 16GB of memory as the Palm Pre Plus. The Palm Pre 2 will first debut in France on Friday and then launch on Verizon Wireless in the U.S. VGP-BPS9/B Battery in “the coming months,” according to HP. Fans can sign up for more info about the Pre 2 at www.palm.com/pre2.

Unlike the incremental nature of the Palm Pre 2 hardware upgrade, webOS 2.0 looks like a major re-working of the OS. It will offer Adobe Flash VGP-BPS9A/B Battery content in the browser, enhanced multitasking with a new Stacks feature that groups open apps together, a better VGP-BPS13 Battery version of Just Type that makes it easier to start e-mails and texts, and Skype Mobile for Skype-to-Skype calls.

We’re disappointed that the Palm Pre 2 doesn’t look VGP-BPS13A/B Battery like a major upgrade, especially when compared to the latest offerings from the iOS, Android, and Windows Phone 7 platforms, but we do like the power of webOS and can’t wait to try 2.0. We’ll just have to keep waiting for our dream Palm phone—a VGP-BPS2 Battery Pre HD running webOS 2.0 with a bigger, high-resolution screen, an 8-megapixel camera with high-def recording, and an enhanced VGP-BPS2A Battery keyboard

Windows 7 tablets have been a troubled bunch from the VGP-BPS2B Battery Archos 9 PCTablet to the Netbook Navigator Nav 9. Now, TegaTech’s new Windows 7-powered Tega V2 slate has come into the fray with another lackluster performance according to GottaBeMobile‘s Warner VGP-BPS2C Battery Crocker.

The Tega V2 sounds like a great tablet on paper. It’s got a 1.66GHz processor, VGP-BPS13A/S Battery up to 2GB of RAM, an SSD drive of 16GB to 64GB, and 200MHz GPU with 1080p video support. The tablet also features a webcam VGP-BPS13A/Q Battery (0.3mp or 1.3mp), two USB ports, mini VGA, micro SD slot, an audio jack for headphones and a microphone.

Although the Tega V2′s main OS is Windows 7, it also dual boots Android 1.6, just like the ViewSonic ViewPad 10. TegaTech promises VGP-BPS13A/B Battery that the tablet will also be able to run later versions of Android 2.1 and 2.2. The Tega V2 is VGP-BPS13/B Battery pricey: $799.

Crocker found that using Windows 7 as the tablet’s OS proved to be too taxing. The tablet faltered VGP-BPS13B/B Battery in basic tasks like screen rotation and there was “tearing of the image when the screen re-lights up.” He also VGP-BPS13B/Q Battery thought the user experience could have been better; he was disappointed to find that the finicky capacitive touchscreen would work with only certain styluses and also side buttons that could be easily pressed accidentally, sending the tablet to sleep. Read the whole VGP-BPS13/Q Battery review here.

This finance app, free across platforms, doesn’t just show you how much vgp-bps21a money you have in the bank; it also shows where your money goes, and helps you stick to a budget.

Mint.com, a free web service that lets users vgp-bps21 monitor the balances for their various bank and credit accounts, and also helps them create budgets, has become something of a household name in the three years since it launched: it currently boasts over 1 million users, and is adding 3,000 per day. In fact, it’s already vgp-bps13/b won a four-star review from us and has made the shortlist of our favorite iPhone apps. Now available for free on the iPhone and iPad and, most vgp-bps13/q recently, on Android, it’s still one of our favorite finance apps, particularly for people who want a better handle on where their money goes each vgp-bps13a/q month.

Getting Started
Setting up a Mint.com account is free, and requires little information to start. Although you don’t have to right away, there is a wide selection vgp-bps13b/q of banks and institutions whose accounts you can access through Mint.com. This includes not just banks and credit card companies, but VGP-BPS13 stores that issue credit cards, such as Gap. Unlike more complicated finance apps, such as Splashmoney, you won’t have to enter any VGP-BPS13A/B account numbers or routing numbers; just enter the username and password that you would use to access that account online (e.g., on CitiCards.com).

For the most part, adding accounts was quick and easy, although we encountered an error when setting up a Bank of America account. At least,VGP-BPS9 though, the error message described it as a known error and suggested we try again later, which meant we didn’t waste our time VGP-BPS9/B trying in vain to add that account at that moment.

Mobile Apps
In the case of both the Android and iPhone VGP-BPS9/S apps, Mint is all about the big picture. On both apps’ home screens, the first two things you’ll see are red and green color-coded bars showing whether you’ve exceeded your budget, and also how much money you have once you take into account all of your bank accounts VGP-BPS9A/B and looming credit card bills.

While it’s nice to not be overwhelmed with stats as soon as you open the app, we found VGP-BPS2A this single balance to be misleading. Our balance, for instance, didn’t include the paycheck we were about to receive, and also subtracted our credit VGP-BPS2C card balance from our pool of money as if we had already paid it. Ultimately, we found it more useful to jump to the accounts page and see how much money was available in our primary checking account and how much money we had racked up on our credit card. Here, you can VGP-BPS2 see a neat list of accounts and balances, which are further divided into categories such as "Credit cards" and "Cash" (i.e., checking VGP-BPS2B accounts).

Budgeting and Goals
Compared to Pageonce, another popular finance PA3594U-1BRS app that aggregates bank account information, Mint is best for seeing not just what your balances are, but where your money goes. When you dig into the Cash Flow section of the app, you can see how much you spent on utilities, restaurants, clothing. Mint.com is smart enough pa3535u-1brs to know that when you pay ConEd or Time Warner, for example, you’re paying utility bills.

From the website Mint.com, you can customize your budget, adding categories and removing studio 17 battery ones that aren’t relevant to you. In creating a budget, you can do more than just specify how much money you’d like to spend in a studio 1737 battery given area per month; you can also set aside recurring payments, such as a mortgage payment or monthly rent. Unfortunately, users can’t add bank accounts or adjust their budgets from the Android or iPhone studio 1535 battery app.

In addition to assisting you with sticking to a budget, Mint can help you achieve a larger e5500 battery financial goal, such as getting out of debt, saving enough money for retirement, or buying a home. For each of these goals, Mint has a e6400 battery template, as well as national averages to help you estimate how your saving will progress. If you’re interested in buying a home, for instance, Mint asks you to plug in your salary, and uses national averages for monthly maintenance payments and interest rates to calculate how much you can afford to e6500 battery spend. While not the be-all and end-all, this information is helpful, and the fact that users have to plug in so little information makes e4300 battery these templates simple to use.

Alerts
If you want to use Mint not just to glance vostro 1510 battery at your balance information, but to become a more responsible spender (or saver), you can set up alerts, which you can receive via e-mail or SMS. By default, for instance, we received an e-mail informing us that our checking account balance was low. (It wasn’t, in our opinion.) There’s vostro 1310 battery also an Alerts section in both the Android and iOS apps, but its information isn’t always relevant. For instance, the iPhone app good battery displayed our credit card bill as an alert, even though we had long since paid it.

Verdict
While Mint.com and its free iPhone and dell battery Android apps easily and safely sync with your bank accounts, displaying account balances for each, what it really excels at is helping people become more fiscally responsible, whether that means sticking to a budget or exercising willpower while saving up for something important. While its popular competitor sony battery Pageonce (also free) shows a wider variety of information, such as social networking updates and flight stats, Mint.com remains hp battery the best choice for people who want to see not just how much money they have left but where their money has gone.

This Windows enterprise tablet is marred by short battery life, VGP-BPS9 a lackluster resistive touchscreen, and a high price.

Now that HP is targeting the business VGP-BPS8 crowd instead of the masses with its Windows 7-powered Slate, it would seem that Netbook Navigator is in the right place at the right time. In fact, this reseller is beating HP to the punch with its Nav 9 Slate PC (starting at $599, $974 as configured), VGP-BPS9A/B an 8.9-inch Windows 7 touchscreen device powered by an Atom processor. While the Nav 9 has some potential for on-the-go productivity, the battery life VGP-BPS9/B is short, the performance sluggish, and the touch experience downright frustrating. Is this tablet worth using even with a stylus?

Design
From afar, the Nav 9’s rounded edges and flush VGP-BPS9/S battery make it seem like your standard Windows slab. Look closer, though, and you’ll see that this tablet looks and feels far cheaper than its starting price. Take, for instance, the shiny plastic and the reflective bezel, or the resistive display, whose two layers have air VGP-BPS8A bubbles trapped in between them. Let’s just say that we disagree with Netbook Navigator’s claim that the Nav 9 is the most attractive mobile VGP-BPS2 computing device since the iPhone.

At 2 pounds, the Nav 9 is heavier than the 1.8-pound iPad, VGP-BPS2A which has a larger display. However, because the Nav 9 has a narrower shape, it’s easier to hold single-handedly. This slate is a bulky 0.8 inches thick but accommodates more ports than the iPad and other VGP-BPS2B tablets.

The Nav 9 comes VGP-BPS13/Q with a small silver stylus that’s about as long as a matchstick, but there’s not even a place on the tablet in VGP-BPS2C which to stow it. Even the blue LED lights lining the top edge make this machine seem more like a netbook with its keyboard cut VGP-BPS13 off than a modern slate.

Display and Sound
Thanks to the Nav 9’s 1024 x 600 VGP-BPS13A/Q resolution, web pages fit the 8.9-inch screen nicely. Although the Nav 9 runs Windows, you’ll have to install Flash yourself. Once you do, you can enjoy video from sites such as YouTube. When we played YouTube clips at full screen, the action was smooth but VGP-BPS13A/B some colors appeared washed out. The viewing angles also weren’t great. When we viewed the screen head on, we could easily watch videos, but if we VGP-BPS13/B laid it flat on a table or on our lap, or rotated it backward in our hands, the display’s reflective finish became too VGP-BPS13A/S distracting.

Likewise, music sounded tinny. When we listened to "VGP-BPS13B/B Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes, for example, we could barely make out the bass notes, which would normally sound prominent. Also, even when we cranked the volume in both Windows and in Slacker’s player, the VGP-BPS13B/Q sound was still weak.

This rotating iPad speaker dock produces good sound for the price vgp-bps21a and will encourage you to use Apple’s slate more.

The beauty of the iPad is that it’s easy to vgp-bps21/s pick up and start using anytime, whether you want to look up something on the web, play a quick game, or watch a movie or TV show. You’ll get even more out of your investment if you store it inside this clever accessory. SMK Link’s PadDock 10 ($99) is a sturdy Sony VGP-BPS9 Battery stand with two 3-watt speakers that provide impressive audio oomph for the price, letting you stream music from your iTunes and apps Sony VGP-BPS9/B Battery such as Pandora from across the room. And when paired with apps such as ABC.com or Hulu Plus, the PadDock 10 can turn your Sony VGP-BPS9/S Battery iPad into a nice little TV for the kitchen. You’ll even fire up slideshows more often, since the dock both charges and syncs your device. We have a few complaints, but overall the PadDock 10 delivers.

Design
The PadDock 10 consists of a sturdy table stand topped by a four-pronged, grapple-like frame that holds the iPad in place. The holding Sony VGP-BPS9A/B Battery frame turns a full 360 degrees, so you can use apps in landscape or portrait mode, and you can tilt the iPad forward or Sony VGP-BPS13 battery back for the best viewing angle. The accessory elevates the iPad approximately 10 inches above the table surface, putting the device vgp-bps21/b in an ideal position to tap the screen when sitting on our desk. The PadDock weighs 3.4 pounds and it’s base is 7-inches wide so it’s light and small enough to move from room to room with ease. It’s not collapsible though, so expect to keep the stand at home or in vgp-bps21a/b your office.

Because the PadDock 10 secures the iPad just below eye-level, we imagine plenty vgp-bps21 of people pairing this accessory with a Bluetooth keyboard to turn the tablet into a mini desktop/net top. The stand’s base is well-weighted, so we never vgp-bps13/b worried about tipping over the PadDock 10 with a forceful tap.

A 30-pin connector, the iPad’s standard interface port, is built into one of the two holding hooks that lock the iPad in place. That vgp-bps13/q means docking and undocking is a two-part process: First you have to ensure the connector is inserted into the tablet’s port, and then you must vgp-bps13a/q push the opposite end of the iPad into a small clasping mechanism on the opposite hook. After a few tries, docking and undocking the iPad was quick vgp-bps13b/q and painless.

A switch to toggle between charging and syncing modes, along with LED lights to indicate which mode is active,PA3534U-1BRS is located on the right side of the PadDock 10. The two 3-watt speakers are located behind a long gray bar pa3535u-1brs underneath the iPad. The speakers face backwards and can’t be seen when you’re looking at the iPad’s screen dead on, but that’s because SMK Link designed this accessory to project sound against a wall for better amplification.

On the backside of the four-pronged holding frame and above the speakers are two ports. There’s an AC port to power vostro 1510 battery the dock’s speakers and charge the iPad, and a mini USB port, used for syncing the iPad with a PC.

Unfortunately, the PadDock 10’s volume can only be raised or lowered via a small vostro 1310 battery wheel on the right side of the device. There’s no remote control. SMK Link says the company omitted this feature because adding e6400 battery the necessary electronics would have increased the cost well beyond the $99 the company was shooting for

Syncing

To sync the iPad while it rests in the PadDock 10, the tablet must first be connected to your PC via the included mini-USB e6500 battery cable. Then the device can be switched into sync mode with a small button located alongside the same holding hook with the 30-pin connector. Once e5500 battery syncing is done, it’s necessary to switch the PadDock 10 back into charge mode if you want to continue providing juice.

Charging
When not playing video or music the PadDock dell studio 1535 battery charges an iPad with 11-watts of power. If the speakers are active, 6-watts are used to power them and 5 watts are used to simultaneously power the docked device and charge it (the standard Apple adapter can charge the slate with 10 watts dell studio 1737 battery of power when the iPad is not being used). We docked an iPad with 40 percent battery life in the PadDock 10 at about 11:30 am, used it intermittently dell studio 17 battery to listen to music and watch some video for about an hour, and let it charge until 4:45pm when it hit 100 percent capacity.

Speaker Performance
The PadDock 10 uses a two-channel stereo system comprised of two oval-shaped left Dell studio 15 battery and right speakers. There’s no built-in sub-woofer to cover deep low frequencies, but a passive radiator is used to deliver bass response. The Dell gd761 battery satellite speakers are set at a slight angle so that audio output can bounce off a nearby surface (say, a wall or the back of a desk) and then be reflected back at the listener. In our tests, we noticed that the PadDock 10 performed best when its speakers were Dell xps m1530 battery about 8 to 12 inches away from a wall.

We watched movie trailers, television clips, and listened to MP3 samples on the PadDock 10, Dell xps m1730 battery both against a nearby wall and on the open surface of a table. When positioned against the wall, we could hear more vibrato in the Dell CF623 battery background music of a movie trailer for the film Chico and Rita than when we pointed the dock’s speakers toward the middle of the room. The same goes for hip-hop music sampled with iTunes.

Though the bass drop was noticeable when we moved the PadDock 10 away from a wall, the general audio quality was Dell KD476 battery quite good. Even at 50 percent, the volume was loud enough to parse dialogue, make out sound effects, and hear songs or background music from an acer aspire 5920 battery episode of Castle. And when we raised the volume, the show’s audio filled our office conference room with sound; for instance, we had acer aspire 5050 battery no trouble hearing birds chirp while our lead characters talked during a stroll through Central Park.

The PadDock 10 also provided satisfying sound quality during music playback. When we streamed Green Day from Pandora, there acer aspire 5100 battery was real warmth in Billy Joe’s voice that simply wasn’t present when we used the iPad by itself. Just don’t expect to use the PadDock apple a1185 battery 10 at parties. While the volume was sufficiently loud to annoy nearby co-workers, it’s not enough to fill a large, crowded room. The PadDock 10 apple a1175 battery is best for playing background music or watching video content in a bedroom or kitchen

Verdict
For $99 the PadDock 10 makes for a much better iPad resting place while at home or in the office than a case. The audio output apple a1189 battery is fairly impressive given the affordable price, and when paired with a Bluetooth keyboard this, accessory makes Apple’s slate a better good battery productivity device because it’s close to eye level. We just wish the package included a remote control so you could change tracks and adjust battery the volume from across the room. Audiophiles may want to invest in the iLuv iMM747, an iPad speaker batteries dock that costs $50 more, but the PadDock 10 is a better multipurpose dock that adds more functionality to an already good batteries great multipurpose device.

Preis-Leistungsknaller.

The Toshiba Satellite M640 and M645 offer a 14-inch laptop with VGP-BPS13 Battery solid performance and an attractive design at a modest price. As parents and students gear up for the back-to-school season, does the Satellite VGP-BPS13A/Q Battery M640 below at the top of your shopping list? Keep reading to see what we think of this Core i5-equipped model with Nvidia discrete graphics.

Build and Design
The Satellite M640/M645 is the latest generation of multimedia notebooks from Toshiba and is designed to offer a perfect balance of performance VGP-BPS13A/B Battery and style. At first glance, the design of the M645 is pretty traditional with sculpted edges, a mixture of smooth VGP-BPS13/B Battery and textured glossy plastics, and some attractive LED accent lighting. The exterior is covered in what Toshiba calls the "Fusion X2 Finish in Charcoal." Personally, I call it black glossy plastic with a textured "chain" pattern imprinted in the surface to help hide fingerprints and dirt. Despite the silly marketing name for the finish, I have to give VGP-BPS13B/B Battery Toshiba credit here. The textured chain pattern gives you the modern look of the glossy plastics but doesn’t look like a horrible magnet for smudges, dirt, or whatever else a student spills on a VGP-BPS13B/Q Battery laptop.

Build and Design
The Satellite M640/M645 is the latest generation of multimedia notebooks from Toshiba VGP-BPS13A/S Battery and is designed to offer a perfect balance of performance and style. At first glance, the design of the M645 is pretty traditional VGP-BPS13/Q Battery with sculpted edges, a mixture of smooth and textured glossy plastics, and some attractive LED accent lighting. The exterior is covered in what Toshiba calls the "Fusion X2 Finish in Charcoal." Personally, I call it black glossy plastic with a textured "chain" pattern imprinted in the surface to help hide fingerprints and dirt. Despite the silly marketing name for the finish, I have to give Toshiba credit here. The textured chain pattern gives you the modern look of the glossy VGP-BPS9 Battery plastics but doesn’t look like a horrible magnet for smudges, dirt, or whatever else a student spills on a laptop.

The bottom of the notebook includes two access plates for the RAM, wireless card and the hard VGP-BPS8 Battery drive. Despite the fact that most people buying consumer multimedia notebooks don’t perform upgrades, Toshiba engineers made VGP-BPS9A/B Battery is very easy to get inside this laptop. You only have to remove one screw to access the hard drive and one screw to get to the RAM and wireless card.

Screen and Speakers
The M645 has a 14-inch diagonal display with LED backlighting and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The overall quality of the display is "very good" VGP-BPS9/B Battery within the narrow vertical viewing angle sweet spot. The backlight is even and bright, contrast is sharp and colors are good though the colors VGP-BPS9/S Battery are a little warm at the default settings. If there is a single obvious issue it has to be the narrow vertical viewing angles. While the VGP-BPS8A Battery horizontal viewing angles (side view) are nearly flawless, the colors become over exposed when viewed from above and significantly inverted and distorted when viewed from below. If you are using this laptop for color-accurate editing you will need VGP-BPS2 Battery to be certain you’re viewing the screen from straight ahead.

The display’s 1366×768 resolution is a standard resolution for mainstream notebooks. The horizontal VGP-BPS2A Battery resolution is adequate, however only 768 pixels of vertical space means a good deal of scrolling while surfing the Internet and only VGP-BPS2B Battery enough space to view about one-half of a page in a Microsoft Word.

The Satellite M645 features harman/kardon branded stereo speakers located just above the keyboard. These speakers provide an excellent range VGP-BPS2C Battery of highs, midtones and lows with surprisingly rich base for a notebook without a dedicated subwoofer. Since these speakers are located dell latitude e6400 battery above the keyboard they direct sound up and toward the user. Another item worth mentioning is dell latitude e6500 battery Toshiba’s "Sleep-and-Music" feature which allows you to isten to music from your MP3 player through these fantastic laptop speakers even when your laptop is powered down in sleep mode. The headphone jack also provides a great, static-free connection for external dell latitude e4300 battery speakers or earphones

Keyboard and Touchpad
The full-size keyboard with LED backlighting on the M645 features Chiclet-style keys that dell vostro 1510 battery are responsive and provide a little extra spacing to prevent typos. The keys are large and flat and have a glossy texture that shows smudges dell vostro 1310 batteryr from your skin oils over time. There is no noticeable flex unless you apply significant pressure to the keys in the middle of the board. A individual key presses are quiet with virtually no "click-clack" noise while typing; making it an excellent choice for taking notes Dell inspiron 1545 battery in a classroom or office meeting room. The keyboard also features dedicated multimedia keys above the keyboard and dedicated home, Dell inspiron 1525 battery end, page up and page down keys.

The Synaptics touchpad is a fairly nice with a matte texture Dell latitude d630 battery that provides smooth cursor movement. The touchpad drivers provide excellent accuracy and minimal lag with a range of options. This is a multi-touch touchpad with customizable gestures and overall this touchpad works exactly like you want a touchpad to work. However, Dell studio 15 battery the touchpad buttons have very shallow feedback with moderately loud clicks when you press the buttons.

Ports and Features
The Satellite M645 features a great range of ports–making this laptop one of the good battery more "future proof" 14-inch notebooks we’ve recently reviewed. You get two USB 2.0 ports and a combo eSATA/USB 2.0 port in battery case you want to use fast external storage drives. The M645 also features dual video out ports: a VGA connection battery for old-school projectors and HDMI for new monitors and HDTVs. More importantly, the M645 includes an ExpressCard slot so you can upgrade this battery laptop with USB 3.0 ports if you need them. All picture descriptions are left to right.
